Did you check and make sure your trigger spring is on the correct way? My first build I put it in backwards and had this problem.

TherealScuba, how do you like those sling quick disconnects? I am thinking about adding them but never used them before.

My AR is almost done. Just waiting on a BCM BCG, Knights Armament micro front sight and a Raddlock. 22 is going to get a cheap red dot.

AR on top, HK416D 22LR on the bottom. 30 round magazine on the 22LR is ridiculously long...LOL

    I don't have a sling yet so I can't say.
I'll most likely end up with the Magpul QD3 sling.
It should fit right into the QD mount on the rail so I won't have to use the ridiculous swivel that came with the mount.

I have a feeling I'll like the sling and the mount.

The centurion rails on mine have holes for QD and I will add a plate with QD on the rear on the buffer tube. I am looking at using a Vickers 2 point sling since that is the direction the Marine Corps is headed with their slings. It is just going to take some practice to get used to that sling.

You cannot use paste. It has to be the high temp stuff (1100 degree+) per batfe.

Seems a lot easier and safer to drill a blind hole into the threads, add a bit of drill rod then tack it in.

I'm using a Midwest industries buffer tube qd mount. Clamps right over the buffer behind the end plate.

Can I put a .308 muzzle brake on a 7.62x39mm barrel safely? They have the exact some thread pattern. Thanks

    I would imagine so, 308 is 7.62x51.
You might wanna get the opinion of someone smarter than me though

From a quick search the bullet diameter on a 308 is 7.82mm, and the 7.62x39 is 7.92mm. So I would say no due to the larger diameter.

I noticed that too, on Wikipedia, weird. If I have a .308 muzzle brake in my hand, can I find out if it will word if the entire tip of the bullet fits through both ends?

AK bullets measure .311-.312". .308 is well, .308". Take your new MB and see if an AK bullet will pass through it. ie, see if the hole diameter is large enough to pass the .311-.312" bullets. If not, drill it out some.

EDIT: Sacrifice one round of AK and pull that bullet and see if it drops through the MB. If you work the bullet back and forth enough it will come loose. Find a hole in a piece of wood and work it back and forth there, no pliers to mess up the bullet. Dump the powder in the toilet or the yard, it is fertilizer too.
