I don't know much about your area, but aren't there alot of enviro-hippies in California? They might just not like the fact that you drive a truck instead of a Prius or SMRT Car. I have a friend in southern Alberta who had a cow heart smeared across the front of her car by some self righteous vegan... It was wrapped in the "I Love Alberta Beef" bumper sticker which they ripped off the back of her car.

    we do....

"WEST COVINA, Calif. -- Fire raged through a Hummer dealership in the Los Angeles area Friday morning, and graffiti spray-painted on many of the damaged vehicles indicated that the fire was set intentionally. Dozens of SUV's were vandalized at three other dealerships, prompting the FBI to investigate the incidents as acts of domestic terrorism.

Video from the helicopter of NBC 7/39's sister station in Los Angeles showed slogans spraypainted on the hoods and sides of several SUVs, including "I (heart) pollution," "Fat Lazy Americans" and "American Wastefulness. One vehicle had the letters "ELF" sprayed on a door.

On Aug. 1, a banner was found at an arson that destroyed a large apartment project in San Diego. The banner said, "If you build it, we will burn it. ELF."

...My buddy drives a hummer and also got his windows all smashed with bricks in Westminster by ELF, not too far from Garden Grove. But i dont think thats the case with derek and his taco

I personally recomend the Viper Alarm. They have a new model out now, the 5901 IIRC. It's what's going on my truck. I had the 5900 On my previous Ford truck, remote start, turbo timer (diesel) and it rocked!!!!

Dude, put a little note on the inside of your window that says "Smile your on Camera" no problems after that.

Even if you don't have a camera on them..they'll freak out and scoot!

TC, you touched on it in your last thread but there is a great possibility the perp who did this is reading your posts and laughing his ass off. Your truck is very distinguishable and we are all very aware of it from the VERY POPULAR stolen wheels thread. You also describe where you park and include pictures.
It was obvious you would post your experience of any future damage here on the board. There are sick individuals out there who would get a kick out of reading about the results of their efforts.

The original thing that happened to your truck sounds like it was a bit more professional and likely not someone who was following you on this board. The second one seems like someone wanted to kick you while you were down.

Unfortunately, this is the downside to social media and how we open our lives up on the internet. The best advice I have to anyone reading this is to always be aware of the information you are giving out. This board is visible to the entire world and some information can be used against you by anyone with ill intentions.

I'm sorry I don't have advice for you. I would suggest getting your truck in working order as fast a possible because salt can do some NASTY things to metal engine parts. I would also suggest an alarm or video system of some sort. When you do get one, there is no need to post what you have. Hell, post claims to things you don't even have to try and deter anyone from doing further damage.

Best of luck that this is the final vandalism to your truck.

I have a laminated sign that I put on my dirt bike when we go on vacation. Dirt bikes are a frequently stolen item and I am always out washing it in the driveway (a lot of people know I have it). I do chain it to the wall but chains are easily cut.
It's on my other computer so I can't copy it to this post but it says something along these lines:

Exactly..nice sign. I always hate seeing those signs in stores and stuff when I'm shopping....sorta gives me the chills like Big Brother is watching you.
