So much for the 4130 cracking before it bends.

So My question is why do you guys race 1450? To me it doesn't make sense. Some of you guys put so much into your trucks and maybe race two races. BAP and RATR. And most of the time there is one truck that is WAY over built compared to the rest of the group. Granted in most of the races its about who's truck is still running at the end of the race. Why not race a cheaper class like 1600, 5/1600 or 11. Yeah its slower but at least you are on the same playing field and most of those guys finish. Hell you could buy a Trophylite for less then most of the guys put in the truck and you actually get cash if you do well. Or if you want to go faster for as much as some of the more built 1450s you could have a class 10.

Prop bent that upper link cause you didn't vapor heat treat and quench freeze quantum normalize it.
Bet you didn't even correct the grain pattern on a molecular level in a sub-atomic nano-spaceship.

I'm thinking 1450 is so popular because it's something you can build your existing "prerunner" into pretty easily and go have fun.
Upgrade things as your budget affords or as things break.
DGAF about the big money sandbaggers, a grassroots homebuilt truck is who I'll cheer for all day long.
    And trucks are cool

Im racing M.O.R.E. 1450 this year. So you have to be a leaf sprung truck and metal cab in 1450 (or class 2000 depending what organization you run). So my class is pretty affordable and even because im not going against LS7 linked monsters. In 5 years, Im only $16,000 in to my truck, thats counting buying it in that price. But I did build some of it myself and its a basic leaf springer built to race. You are right some of those guys have crazy $$$ in those linked trucks.
But I used to co-pilot in a linked truck for years and it is fu*king amazing and the best. But im poor..lol and can't be competitve in that class.
So im like Tyler, just racing my desert toy for fun sometimes

New glassworks 7" flat tops for 350$ worth an hour and a half drive ? Having a hard time finding glass that is the right size. 7 is as close as I've gotten. Cant plop down 600 $+ for rear glass right now, and my bedsides are tearing themselves apart. If anyone sees some 8" flat tops for a first gen, point me in that direction.

Thanks for the feed back guys. Something I wondered for a while now. You all seem a lot more level headed then some of the DR and RDC guys that put every penny into them and use them a few times a year and bitch about being broke as hell all the time.

Last season only went to the Mint 400 with SDHQ and Denton Racing so don't know who all is still racing. Hopefully I'll make more races this year.
