Local track is trying to flake on their once a year signature race. there is a weird mixture of wanting to be a professional track and just laziness. It's been the same layout since I started racing there last year in September and there are people crying about having to change the track for the "big race"

Well got a brushless emaxx today, repaired this guys snow plow, took about 3hrs and some 3x3 angle i already had. Basically a free emaxx :D

It needs a new front bumper and could use a new body, came with the ipod dock, stock 7c batterys, some extra stock a-arms, and a little tackle box of extras.

Since your a welder/fabricator Colin, throw a ad on CL in the barter section.

You will get alot of offers on stuff, most are a waste of time but every once in awhile you come across something good. this is my 2nd rc from it, got a few shop tools, ipod etc.. most of the time its simple weld jobs, some people even have detailed drawings of what they need done, haha

nice. i'm trying to determine what to do to strengthen the new 1/10 short course. just ordered a castle brushless and esc, so it's about to start breaking things.....

i'll have to keep that in mind for further down the road. between this forum and the overland off-road facebook page, i keep pretty busy with truck related projects. just finished a bed rack that started the design phase this past summer. can't take on too much at the moment unfortunately since i'm also in classes full time and working 30+ hours a week.

so with the brushless upgrade, i'll be running 2s lipos. the truck came with 7 cell nimh batteries. the crawler i have coming inthe mail runs on 6 cell nimh. anyone have any issues cutting off the end cell of a 7 cell and resoldering to make it a 6 cell? there isn't any reason this shouldn't work, just curious if anyone has run into issues doing so for any reason.

Page 404 not found for me

Cant say i have any imput on that, iv never messed with nimh's batterys too much, usually just go lipo. Are you sure the crawler cant handle the 7 cell?

Also now you are up to 3 r/cs? haha

it can handle a 7 cell, but the battery tray is really nicely integrated into the chasis, and made, without adustments, for a 6 cell.

i'm sure the crawler will go lipo/brushless at some point, but the short course truck is the main build right now, so it's nimh for the crawler for now.

and yep, 3 trucks in 2 weeks :D

been wanting to get back into the hobby for a while, so with the business doing well, tax return time, not married yet, etc. it just seemed like the right time to buy up some newtoys.

    this link work?
    http://www.castlecreations.com/products/sct-race-pro.html
it's not that exact paiting, but the specs closely line up with that. for some reason the link to the actualy package isn;t working :notsure:

That link works, should be a solid setup and provide some nice power. I ran a siewinder esc with the 1410 3800kv in my exo, on 2s it had plenty of torque and speed for my needs.

Iv been back into it for about 14 months, im over 30+ cars/trucks/boats..
my girl left for other reasons, i bought a ton at that point, she came back but my look on things changed and i still buy what i want when i want. I still havnt got my taxes done but thats gonna go towards other stuff

I think mine is coming with the "updated" sidewinder esc. Whatever that means lol.

I think I'll wait until after I move to buy more. 30 rcs is a lot to transport!

A 2s lipo is very similar to a 6. cell nimh in size. Should drop right in, if I'm understanding the problem correctly.

Also taking off a single cell from that 7 cell is no biggie either, if that's the way you wanna go.
