    Whenever I have my mom with me, she knows to bring her plastic step stool along and I just throw it in the bed after she gets in. She can get out alright but she can't get in without it. Too put it bluntly, she is pretty obese...

    Even at 5'2" my wife just kind of jumps in without much trouble. Sliders don't work real great as sidesteps or at least mine don't. They are tucked a bit to close to the body and don't quite stick out far enough so all they do is become an obstacle for you to lift your leg around as you get it. haha
