Vibration after lift

I am getting courious of what could cause my vibration on my truck after the lift... I put the bilstein 5100 set all the way up and got about around 2.5" of lift. I've read many threads about this issue, it could be the center carrier bearing or it could be the u joints... I tried dropping the center carrier bearing and it didn't do much... I get the vibration from 25-40mph, I'm not sure if I didnt drop it enough or is there any thing else to try?

 

did you do AAL in the rear? if you left the rear stock carrier bearing drop is pointless and could cause more vibrations

 

Yes I did raise the rear with an add a leaf, I'm just wondering how people have a lift that is taller and have no problems. Its a 2" add a leaf.

LOL, try axle shims maybe, or you need to determine if the vibrations are coming from the front or rear

 

Okay, I honestly kinda forgot I started that thread, oops! Well it feels like its coming from the rear... I use to get it from a dead stop till about 10mph, but it stopped that when I put the washers in.

 

haha its cool no worries. so it does sound like its being caused by your driveshaft then. you should try axle shims. and your positive it isnt your tires being unbalanced?

 

Yea I'm positive, it shakes like your driving on wash boards. But with both tires.

 

I'm just courious if the carrier bearing may not have gotten lowered enough, I dropped it about 3/8"

 

Okay so I dropped the carrier bearing down to about an inch, it didnt do much all, what is the best way to check if its the front or the rear?

 

Well you could put it in 4wd then pull the driveshaft making your truck front wheel drive haha. Try reading up on axle shims, i have heard of a few cases that the CB drop didnt work and axle shims did.

 

I took my truck to inland truck parts today, the deal with drivelines and other mechanical aspects... The told me my driveline needs to be a little longer so I could add some length to it or get a 1 piece driveline... Does this sound like something I may need on a 2.5" lift?

 

Are you sure it isn't the front? Try switching into 4hi and see if the vibes go away.

 

I'm pretty sure, I put it in 4hi today and drove a little around town and I still got the vibration

 

people dont lift and have no vibes, we live with it because there is nothing wrong. i bought a beefed taco cb drop, and it cured my vibes. put like 2 or 3 washers between your cb and mount and see how it does. also, make sure your leafs are torqued to 90 ft lbs.

if youre still not happy, you need a 1 piece DS.

 

I understand that there may be alittle vibe but this is pretty bad, by lowering the cb the 0-10 vibe has Gina away

 

The leaf pack or the ubolts?

 

U bolts. Toyota only states to set them to like 37ft lbs but we have figured out that that is a typo. And should be 73, but be safe and go with 90.

 

Okay, I retorqued everything today, my ubolts where loose, but I still have some vibs I just don't understand if it was a little its one thing but this just doesn't seem normal

 

those of you guy with a beefed cb how much of a drop does it at on the cb?

 

The vibe is from the change in driveshaft angle. The ujoints must rotate faster the higher you lift it.
3-4 degree shims for the rear axle, and a 1 peice driveshaft should cure it. Start with shims.
