Howdy TW, never thought I'd be one to post a For Sale ad but I am looking to sell my baby..

WHY: I'm posting as a feeler mostly because this isn't necessary but def want to move onto a car. Where I'm stationed at with the military is pretty isolated and I can't wheel this thing nor use it as a daily driver so I have to man up and put life first unfortunately. Training is picking up for me and I can't appreciate this truck as much as someone else can. I put a lot of money, time and tears into this girl (her name is Tiffany, she's cute and sassy:D)

Going to throw this one to y'all first, The True Tacoma Enthusiasts (don't make me go to CL)

    Onto the beauty..

WHAT: Lunar Mist 2003 Toyota Tacoma V6 SR5 4x4 Double Cab
    89,174 miles

PARTS: 6" Fabtech Lift, All-Pro 3" Rear Leafs, 18x9 Fuel Maverick matte black -12mm offset, 295/70/R18 Nitto Trail Grappler M/T (%70 tread left), Cold Air intake, URD o2 Sim, Carrier bearing drop kit, Front Bumper Fog Lights, Bed liner, Front Window Tinting (matches rear/still legal), Window Rain Visors, TRD Skid Plate. Have receipts for everything ($5k+..)

MAINTENANCE: Oil Changed/Tires Rotated every 4,000 miles (have mileage charts if you want) Will change oil again on my dime prior to sale, Transmission Fluid @79,876 / Shocks, Lift Kit, Alignment @86,536 / Wheels, Tires @88,115 / All-Pro Leafs @88,748

CONS (if you can call them that):
    Deleted Catalytic Converter
. I had a straight pipe installed where the cats used to be because a) I don't have emission testing b) they needed replacing ($800/piece) c) Doesn't affect noise d) Drives/idles smoother (especially at higher RPM there is no 'lagging') I installed the URD o2 sim to remove the CEL (still allows other codes to throw, just not the rear o2 sensor) so the dash is flawless.
Rebuilt from salvage title. Bought from a mechanic who came across this truck from the original owner (I'm the 2nd) who got swiped in the bed but couldn't afford payments. Took the salvage title, sold to mechanic, fixed the bed and resold to me. Simple as that. Looks brand new. As you all know how reliable these vehicles are, I got the truck for a decent price and have super cheap insurance payments because of it. With that said, I refuse to waiver on price simply because of rebuilt from salvage. In this economy, this is a steal for future buyers.

PRICE: KBB says for my vehicle (excluding salvage title) that Good is 10,500. Excellent is 15,500. I think it's in excellent condition. (see below pics and tell me if you think I shouldn't be biased) With that said, and how much my lift/tires/wheels/installation cost. I am posting at $15,000 OBO

Good luck, but a salvage title and no cats would definitely knock this down from "excellent" condition valuing. Edit: However to your point you do have a lot of $$ in nice add-ons. Good luck with the sale. It is a nice looking truck.

I don't think his bashing, he's right salvage tittle would depreciate value for sure no matter how good it looks. Just saying

Understand, no disrespect there. My thinking: So i lower the condition to good, even average. Then add a portion of the total amount of money I put into it (Fully realize I won't make even %75 of my money back on the money I put in). Still comes out to $15k.

Yep your right, seller would never get the money back spend on mods and stuff, that's just the way it is when selling cars especially salvaged. That's why I'm keeping mine stock as possible better resale value ;), GLWS peace out op.

Very nice looking truck, OP. It is really rare to find a low mile 4x4. That said I wish people on this site weren't so touchy about price comments. I believe the OP posted this as a ”feeler”. To me that suggests that he wants to know what others feel it is worth. I don't think pointing out a price disparity is ”price bashing”.

This.^^ As long as posts are constructive criticism, people should be allowed to say what they want. That being said, OP, your truck is gorgeous, but being salvaged title knocks on the price a lot. I hope you have accident pictures and before/after shots. If someone's willing to pay your asking price, more power to you, I don't see it happening though, when clean titles trucks are going for this price. GLWS.

The problem with salvage titles is most banks won't give you a loan or if they will, the rates are sky high. Also insurance companies usually won't give you full coverage on a salvage, only liability. Crash it again and you're out 15k. You would need 15k cash, and if you have that you could get a similar clean title truck for little to nothing more. My rule of thumb is salvage title takes 30% or more off the clean title price. So...I value this truck at about 11k.

    $15k OBO.. If you think it's worth 11k, that's a fair estimate.

Now add the lift/tires/wheels that are all less than 3,000 miles old.

Meet me in the middle. Ah-ha.. Light bulb*

The only damage was to the back left bed panel which was "caved in" (only use quotes bc I don't have pics). The previous owner took to mechanic to have fixed but couldn't afford payments so he took a salvage title. The mechanic bought it/fixed and turned it around to me. There is no frame damage, and from the pics you can tell it's been fixed obviously.

Happy to entertain offers/questions. No one is price bashing or being disrespectful. Appreciate this forum's honesty and willingness to help/pass on a GLWS.

No disrespect here, but something doesn't add up. Top bluebook on these trucks is as you posted. With that said, almost ANY amount of bed damage would not total this truck, unless there was frame damage or damage to the cab you were not told about. Salvage title only derives when insureance totals it. Not an expert, but I grew up doing bodywork for my uncle, so I know a little.

Just trying to give you insight. I hope for your sake you sell it, just letting you know what people are probably thinking when they see this.
