    a lot lol
Okay guys, i have a small issue. I am running the OME setup with 881's and Dakars. Everything is wonderful with the lift, i love it. But I havent even had tires on 9 months and im already down to a 3/32 and even a 2/32 on the driver rear. Im running the Hankook RT03's. I'm assuming it was a bad alignment. I've never had a "real" alignment due to having issues finding anyone that would mess with it. I've heard mixed opinons on if UCA's are necessary. The only thing im really concerned about ATM is tire wear. I want to eventually get UCA's but are they necessary before i get the new tires?

Thats the problem, i cant find anyone that will actually touch it. They all keep saying UCA, UCA. but i know there are people on here without UCA's that have gotten alignments and gotten it pretty close within spec.

A good shop shoud be aible to do the aligment without the UCA. Try your Toyota dealer.

Shouldn't need it. Your not even over 2.5" lift. Got mine near perfect with 3"+

You need an alignment. The UCAs would help that much. Unless you want to get them for future mid travel.

OME and UCAs I've seen very mixed responses. Shouldn't be necessary. I mean, the UCA wouldn't hurt but it shouldn't be necessary w OME. Go find a shop that'll do an alignment.

With my ome 881 coils and 1/4" top plate spacer I am almost at 3" of lift. To get the amount of caster that I was looking for I had to go with light racing uca's. Even though I may have not needed them I decided to go with them to get a perfect alignment. I don't see how anybody with over 2" of lift is getting close to 3 degrees of caster on their alignment without an aftermarket uca.

The main reason for upgrading the UCAs is to gain back the Caster adjustment lost when you lifted your truck. However, a low caster setting will not impact on tire wear.

The Camber and Toe settings in your alignment are thrown off when you add lift and will cause excessive tire wear . The stock UCAs do not prevent your truck from being able to attain correct Toe and Camber even after a lift is put on.

Find a reputable alignment shop, they will tell if your Toe and Camber cannot be set correctly so you wont wear out your tires. They will be able to identify the exact cause, like worn out bushings or tie-rods. The reason will not be because you do not have an aftermarket UCA.

I'm considering adding UCA's, due to the same issue. After an OME 881/N91S upgrade, my tires (Dueler 31/10.5R15) are showing pretty good amount of cupping / scalloping along the outer half. I've taken it to several shops for an alignment, and it hasn't helped (the the cupping). It drives fine and straight, with no wandering. Now, I feel even more confused after finding this thread....

A good shop should be able to get you in spec. UCAs would be for 3+" of lift. The OME kit gets you a bit under 3", more like 2-2.5". I wouldn't worry about UCAs unless you want to stay IFS for a long time or get more travel out of your IFS.

    Thanks.
Can anyone recommend a good shop in the DFW or Plano area?
