So why won't a set of struts off of a 05-09 tacoma fit on a 95.5-2004 model tacoma? Is the bolt offset on the top plate different?

I put struts on my friends 2008 double cab 4x4 and they look the same or at least similar enough. I need some struts for my truck and can only find used ones for the newer model tacomas.

I see, Well I think there differnt, I might have my Old TRD springs and Rancho 5000's
If not why not just go out and get new ones? the Rancho's arent to expensive.

    stock, for now
what are you looking for? The coil, or shock?

If you need coils, you can find them anywhere.
If you need the shock, 5100's are an awesome purchase and setup

I need both. It's a long story but I sent in my Donahoes to get rebuilt and they are lost in the mail now for about 3 months. I need something to bring my front end up about 3" for looks and new shocks/springs to improve my ride quality. The struts I have on it are off of a single cab so it sags a lot in the front. I need springs and shocks.

I have a confirmation # but it was never scanned after it left my post office. I have filed complaints and forms to lost mail center but have to give them 60 days to look for it. I have 30 more to go. I am not giving up. Who wants some older leaking struts anyways unless they knew what they were. I figure they just got lost and will turn up.

So what if I take struts and coils from a 2005 DC and put the top plates from my current struts. Will they fit. I don't see height being an issue but will the top plates even fit on DC springs from an 2005?
