    Dealer has a 2012 TRD DC 4x
Read somewhere expect $500 per $10,000 for depreciation and toyota discount to dealer to move it
    Sales price $33,278
That's $1,500 on top normal negotiation
    So, what's a reasonable offer?
    $29,000?
May buy today! Thanks for your help!

    33,278
    1,500 minus
    31,778 price based on age
    3,778 negotiate
    28,000 sales price

Me likey. I seems like $3k is the going rate of discount as of late in 2013's. anyone else have an opinion? Heck, it's the last day of the month and they have a few 2012's on the lot.

just call and email a dozen dealers and see what you can
get it down to before they demand you come in a talk more...

then go back to the one you want, and say no way man, I know i can get XYZ...

your final price has less to do with facts and figures than it does with old fashioned haggling. so if your dealing with a car salesman, you had better be at the top of your game!

It also depends on geography. You would not see discounts that deep in the Pac NW.

Dealer wants to get rid of the 2012s, so you are in control. Make a firm offer of no more than $28k and be ready to walk out the door if they can't meet that (even if you just pretend to walk out). They will quickly make their adjustments if they see you are leaving and they know they can come down more.
Also, don't fall for the "end of the month" sales trick. End of the month is their problem, not yours.

The sales rep said I was rediculous and fought me about the price. He wouldn't even counter. Then he said he'd call me back and never did. What an ass. Oh well, guess ill wait till the end of the month.

I just bought a leftover 2012 and got whopping $900 off. They showed me their invoice and it was about 2% over. Trd DCSB 4x4 $34,900 for $34,000 even.

Could have gotten a 2013 in white for about the same but I wanted silver.

They're probably like f this guy and used to running business this way.

Its a Toyota Tacoma.....they aren't going to give it away. Now if it were a Tundra......you could get a hell of a deal!

After a 25 min bitch session, he is going to gimme numbers tnrw. He's thinking $1000 under invoice. Not sure if I feel good about giving them my business, but I guess money talks and I can have it serviced anywhere. He thinks march may bring more incentive. Ugh.

These trucks sell very well so they usually don't offer much for incentives. All I've seen is for interest rates.

OP.. 1k dollars only lowers the payments like 7-10 bucks per month. if its the truck you want, dont let 10 bucks a month stop you from buying it.
