Workman now realizes why he is such a huge PUSSY. He drives an auto:( No wonder why he sucks at driving so much. Those who drive manual are far more superior than Workman, and for that, he is ashamed.

Workman's 92 year old grandma still drives a stick. Yeah, she is a kick ass driver, and WAY more competent at driving than Workman.

Workman hates his Tacoma now because of its inferior transmission, Workman will never be cool, and he will not be able to afford to replace his lame ass auto Taco for quite some time. FWL!!!!

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
This is pretty biased, I agree about the double clutching, but it does take more skill to drive a manual. Anyone that has spent extensive time behind the wheel of both autos and manuals knows that. Only skill it takes to drive an auto is turning the wheel, you just put it in gear and push the gas and it goes, a toddler could do that. Not bashing, just saying. If driving a manual doesn't take much skill to drive, then why don't more people drive them? Automatics are easier and more convenient to drive so therefore more people drive them. I really don't care, I drive both. Automatic Ford Bronco and manual Tacoma. I got a manual because I hate driving automatic 4 cylinders. You need a manual to maximize the power of a 4 banger, but if I went with the V6 there is no doubt I would have an auto right now.

chris4x4: i wasnt talking about installation LOL. either or would be one speed. i meant exhaust tone. listen to the same exhaust on an auto and a manual. the stick sounds better all the time.

and controlling the powerband and kick starting is stupid reasons? lol ok.

The engine produces the sound. Not the tranny. You can select individual gears on the auto as well. You can't kick start either engine. They are trucks.....not dirt bikes.

kick start, jump start, bump start, push start. whatever you want to call it when you pop the clutch to get the car started up when you have a dead battery.

and i still stand by the standard trans sounds better with the exhaust, all in the shift points. lol

We've discussed this. HP and spirit points. How could a manual possibly effect my pecker?

i dont even understand the whole god complex with the standard transmission deal. we KNOW the auto is better in these trucks. some of us just prefer the standard trans even with the discrepancies. if my 4runner was offered in standard, i would still take it in automatic cause i appreciate the good transmission and sometimes you just dont feel like shifting. atleast its like that for me.

Use a quality battery and you can use the key the truck comes with. And I stand by the fact that the tranny isn't connected to the exhaust, thus has no impact on the vehicle sound. And many folks with autos have hit the rev limiter. Your argument is invalid.

I like to be able to select what gear for what terrain im in. that being said the 6spd is a truck transmission and isnt that smooth. You figure it out and work with it after awhile but its not that great.

My 05 TRD OR has 198k miles on it with the original clutch, I've never had a lick of problem with it. I will always drive a manual transmission for the simple reason that I drive my truck, my truck doesn't drive me.

chris4x4: im going to totally ignore the fact that you made like you never had to push start any of your vehicles ever.

and invalid or not. TO ME, because this is my opinion, an aftermarket exhaust sounds better on an standard transmission due to the ability to shift when you want vs the delayed sound when the automatic shifts. thanks for understanding.
