Does Cliffhanger basically dead end then you have to go back up it?

yeah, going up that spot was the most challenging I think. Took a bit of rock stacking for the guys with lockers and a strap for a couple guys too. That's also where CoTacoTRD hit his bedside and busted his taillight.

First one going back up. (right now I'm not planning on running Cliff Hanger again this year)

This ledge took a bit of effort as well for a few people (myself included since I got on a bad line) I was hung up solid on my skid plates, but made it ok on a better line.

    Yes

in this pic the trail goes along the Cliff out to the point on the far left of the photo. That's where you turn around and come back.

yep. But every obstacle is differnt since you're doing them all backwards on the way out.

So my plans could change as it gets closer but right now, I will be driving to Moab on Wed, 5/29. Probably just go for a hike or something with my wife that day. Planning to run Golden Spike on Thursday (Willing to lead it again if Bob needs me to). Friday will be a day with my wife and I think we're doing some more hiking in the Fiery Furnace area of Arches. Saturday I think I'm going to run Moab Rim. I don't know how many are interested in that. Couldn't get enough interest last year so it didn't happen. So depending on interest this year I might end up on something else on Saturday too. Thinking about Metal Masher and Elephant Hill as backup options for Saturday if Moab Rim doesn't happen. But really even if there is only one more truck that wants to do Moab Rim, that's what I'll do.

im getting down there the 5/25 later in the afternoon and im guessing ill probably be lazy and not hit anytrails but instead set up a camp or something with my buddy and then the next day it's gonna be fins and things a hells reveng then after that it's free for all but Cliff hanger, Behind the rocks, Metal masher, Kane creek, and probably gonna do Poison spider a bunch of times but only do trifecta once. Still debating how big of a group i wanna do that one with.

Yes. What we here call the Trifecta is technically called Golden Spike, since you can't get to the Golden Spike section of the trail without running either Gold Bar Rim or Poison Spider.

On all of the trail books, maps websites etc it will always be referred to as Golden Spike, not "the Trifecta"

I just found out that I will have to be at work for a full day on May 30th :( but hopefully can leave at the butt-crack of dawn on the 31st. I know that means I will miss quite a bit of the trip (2 days of trail runs), but I have heard that several people are staying after the assigned trip dates, so hopefully I will have people that won't mind hitting the trails with me.

What does that mean as far as paying for camp sites or access to trails after the meet is done, since I will likely stay for 2-3 days after the meet ends?

HA, many of us were total noobs last year. Just find out what trails are being run that day and ask people's opinions and decide which one sounds the most fun! It is almost impossible to have a bad time there, hell monte broke his arm then rolled his truck and he STILL had a great time.

Come with us on something. You'll have fun.

But seriously it's hard to go wrong down there. Some of the most popular trails are

    Hells Revenge
    Fins & Things
    Poison Spider
    Kane Creek

Golden Spike is a long day. If Bob wants me to lead it I'm going to suggest it gets limited to ~10 trucks on any given day. Any more than that and the day can get very long and the potential for breakage goes up.

    The difficult trails are:
    Pritchett Canyon
    Behind the Rocks
    Golden Spike
    Moab Rim
    Cliff Hanger
    Metal Masher

    Moderate trails are
    Hells Revenge
    Kane Creek
    Fins & Things
    Elephant Hill (Long trail)
    Rose Garden Hill
    Poison Spider
    Wipe Out Hill
    Steel Bender
    Top of the World

    Easy Trails are:
    Porcupine Rim
    Chicken Corners
    Long Canyon
    White Rim
