If you don't like that option, you can always chase them off with a paintball gun.

    There are none.

I have caught and relocated several... New ones appear to take their places though

Personally I don't like to deal with animals fucking up my stuff. Would I put out antifreeze to kill an animal? No, but I wouldn't put it past myself to take a .22 and put the cat down.

There was a small pack of stray cats constantly running around in our hi-tunnel, they ended up tearing up our fabric row covers and ruining 2 beds of strawberries (the frost got to them and they never recovered, ever other plant we had with row covers still on made it) My boss and I would keep a couple .22's close at hand, and once we saw them, we took out two of them, the rest of the pack ran off and hasn't bothered us since. We threw them in the compost as a kind of repayment for ruining the strawberries.

Same thing when we had some deer jump our fence, they ate half of the field that was still there (this was winter so there wasn't much left worth harvesting anyways) but we ate all of them. Idk where you live, but out where I work animal control would laugh at us if we called them about some stray cats.

Just get a nice pellet gun and hope you're a good shot.

Some of y'all might want to use this, rather than just killing anything you consider a pest.

OP, here are the steps as applied to your situation

    1: Set action threshold
Sounds like the cats have gotten annoying. Can you just ignore them and get on with your life? What is the extent to the damage they are causing? I'm guessing you are past ignoring them :notsure:

    2:Monitor and Identify
Try to keep tabs on the cats. Find out how many there are and make a log of their basic features for identification purposes. This will help later when you are trapping/removing them.

    3:prevention
Not much you can do to prevent these cats.

    4:Control
Try setting various pest traps out with tuna inside. If this doesn't work, a water gun, nerf gun, or other similar toys might work to scare them away without causing too much harm to your truck or the cats. After this, use an airsoft gun. They can be cheap and should scare while causing limited damage. Using the log from earlier should help you with your removal process. If all other measures fail, and you feel so compelled, you can kill them. I would try to avoid this measure, cats can always find a good home, but you get to choose.

If you want to get rid of them after trapping, check out a flea market or animal shelter. At the flea market you could make some money doing this. Might want to check local laws though.

I've seen a cat poisoned by what we assumed to be anti-freeze.... he was on my front porch making the most terrible breathing sounds, gasping for air, foaming and the mouth and violently shaking... i took him to an emergency vet the second we found him... unfortunately he didnt make it. Was probably one of the saddest things ive ever seen and would not wish that upon another cat

Cat shit and urine make terrible fertilizer and typically kill the plants growing if there is lots of it... not sure why it is though.

I doubt someone who dislikes cat would want to trap them, keep them, feed them, and then transport them to a flea market to try and get rid of them, and then have to take the ones he can't get rid of back home, and take care of them till the next time he can make it to a flea market.

Animals can be pests, when I see a vole coming out of the ground in one of our fields, I either stomp on it, or hit it with what I have in my hands, then continue until it's either dead or gone.

This mindset people have where certain animals lives mean more than others makes no sense. Who's to say a chickens life means less than that of a cat? Just because people see a cat as a pet more than a product doesn't mean it's life is worth more. Anything that causes more harm than good should be classified as a pest and treated as such.

It would depend on what they are eating, I would imagine. Basic cat foods are probably terrible for fertilizer production, but if you feed them something with a higher phosphorus or nitrogen content, they should make better crap. Hmm...

No... It kills plants and smells horrible. And the smell dosnt go away like other feces.
And its not only that... the piss on everything. And my dog eats it, then throws it up in the house. And dont tell me that go clean up my yard bullshit before I let the dog out.

Most scat is to acidic by itself to do much good, give some microorganisms time to break it down further and mix it in a good pile of compost and it wouldn't be bad. Haha feed the cats blood meal and ashes and they'll be set! :p

I recommend the trap and relocate or trap and drop off at animal control.

When I was in college we lived next to an abandoned house aka a cat fornicating ground. There were ALWAYS strays on our property, and they would just multiply, then there was just more strays.

We rented an animal trap from a local feed store and set it up, I think we caught something like 15 cats in 2 days. The fullgrown feral cats we took about 20 miles away and let them out to fend for themselves. The kittens we took to the local animal shelter. I think at one point we had like 7-8 kittens in a cardboard box.

The traps work great and are fairly inexpensive to purchase. I bought one to catch a ground squirrel that was having a field day in the wife's flower garden, and my dad uses the traps to catch possoms and rats that wander onto his property.

http://www.havahart.com/ I think is the company that makes them.

I have had success training cats to stay off of certain things or avoid areas by using these:

    http://www.amazon.com/Contech-StayA...&qid=1362088717&sr=8-2&keywords=cat+deterrent

After awhile you don't even have to activate it......just the sight of it is a deterrent. You might have to get creative as to where you place it but I am sure you can figure out the best way to deploy it. I set mine for noise and spray at first, then just spray (air) and finally it works by just being there. Eventually they just stay away altogether. Good luck.
