    Manual tranny:rolleyes: Your 6th gear is 0.85:1 and my 5th is 0.72:1.

Really? I ran 2000rpm on 33's on stock gears I thought. According to the calculator you should be about 1930 rpm and me about 2050 rpm, so pretty close to 2000 for both of us. haha

Looking at Jason's rig makes me kind of wish I would have found a 1st gen. If I had bought a 1st gen and put all the extra money that my 2nd gen cost me over the price of a 1st gen and all the money I have put into my 2nd gen into a 1st gen I could probably have a build just as bad ass as Jason's!

But I do love my 2nd gen though:D

Dude....Just slap a lockrite in the rear (free labor since you could do it yourself) and get the ARB in the front. It's nice, but the rear doesn't really need a selectable locker imo...
    x3.

37s on an automatic, SAC'd, armored up, 2nd gen? I woulda gone 4.88s to compensate for weight and more rotational mass. But at least it's better than nothing. A local 2nd gen to me, (Tacoridinhigh) ran 37s with 4.56s and ended up regearing AGAIN to 4.88s... his gas milage got better in the city, and he loved the better power. Plus, RPM on the highway would not be bad at all. By the numbers, only looking at about 2,230rpm at 80mph with the 4.88s... 200 higher than stock.

Sure, 4.56s look good by the numbers since 4.56s and 37s is pretty much stock ratio (assuming 3.73s and 245/75r16s came stock), but there are more variables to consider..... :notsure:

Your truck is going to be insane, regardless!!!!!

Eh..considered it. But id much rather have the control of a selectable. and as a partial DD and long trip truck..not sure id like having the lockrite.

Either way, im regearing this summer with or without a locker..preferably with an arb but we shall see. Hoping to score some 4.88s used off somewhere to help save some money. would be awesome to score a used arb but they rarely pop up and when they do..i don't have the money haha

but i plan on doing all the diff work myself. So ill be picking your brain when the time comes. I think my buddy knows how to do it too but the more info the better.

Crap. I reposted.... sorta. looks like we got basically the same numbers. I just used a different speed....
Dewd... I bet your drivetrain hates you!
But you've got the 6 speed, correct? Notorious for higher RPM on the highway....

I know a couple who have rolled on Moab Rim too. It's definitely a trail to pay attention on. But it's fun. This will be the first time I've done it in the Tacoma. Every other time was either in my FJ40 or my FZJ80.

Moab Rim is a great trail but it's all kinda off camber and so you're always leaned over a little and its a trail that you come back down the way you went up. If you don't pay attention its easy to drop off a ledge with one tire (that's already off camber) and go over. The only scary part is if you go over you can keep rolling since it's all a slope. These pics were years ago but of a friend how did just what I described and rolled several times until the giant boulder stopped him by going through the roof of his cruiser. Could have been worse but he was lucky.

I prefer the Aussie Locker over the lockrite. Honestly would be an inexpensive way to get locked for a while until you can do a selectable. You can resell the Aussie for almost as much as you paid for it new. I don't ever notice the Aussie in my FZJ80. Its been a great locker and the truck was a DD and long trip truck.

Lol maybe my slightly top heavy rig should avoid that trail then I guess  rolling in Moab back to back not something I want to do..nor could I recover from it a 2nd time so soon..and would trash my RTT.. Haha
