eh i could prob find something else to spend 4-5k dollars on. better suspension, new 4 wheeler, two sleds and a trailer for me and the wife, etc. an intake/exhaust, with the MAF calibrator would be enough of a gain for me...

next thing for me is a bumper (armor tech hybrid), Icon tubular uniball UCA's, OME 886x coils, 305/70/16 duratracs, AND FJ TRD wheels. i thought about getting boosted, but there is SO much other shit i want right now.

if this site never existed, i'd think my truck was the most bad ass thing to crawl any mall parking lot. but since this site DOES exist.. i feel like i have a '92 chevy chivette compared to the now known possibilities

 

I know exactly how that is. When I test drove the Tacoma, I only tried the 4cyl/5spd and the 6cyl/6spd. Even the 4 banger with the 5 speed feels better than the auto v6.

 

you never drove the auto, but the 4cyl 5spd is better?

I have a yaris and I want that scion xB from top gear US. That thing was BITCHIN!!!

 

I had an auto for a week about 2 months ago.

 

hahahaha fiance had a yaris, basically a street legal go kart. i hammered the piss out of that car...

 

i owned a 4 cyl 5 spd for a year, it is not better than the v6 5spd auto. i drove a 6 spd manual, and wasnt that impressed with it. the frontiers 6 speed is definitely superior to the tacoma's. plus, all the problems with the TOB breaking and being part of the bell housing and expensive as fuck to replace when you're out of warranty pretty much ruined it .

 

See to me the auto is just lifeless compared to the 6spd. I felt I had to mash the gas pedal to get some pep out of the engine.

 

idk, i dont feel like that, but i drive mine every day, so maybe its like when you're in a shitty relationship, and everyone tells you you're fucked, but you stay becuase you dont see it since you're in the middle of it... if you're pickin up what im puttin down...

 

I know the 6spd isn't the greatest. It's not even a Toyota tranny, it's an AY-6, also used on some GM cars. There have been plenty of days where I though to myself that I should have bought an automatic. But after driving one for a week I'm glad I didn't. It's just the way Toyota set the throttle or shift points I guess. The 4Runner I test drove was the same way. The dash would show "ECO" driving if I didn't use the tap shift setup it had.
