The only reason you'd ever be asked to buy rails is if you didn't buy the originals from a BAK authorized dealer. If you'd care to tell us the ful story as to why you'd be asked to buy rails under warranty claim, I will be the first to offer up a valid and reasonable response. To say BAK customer service sucks is simply not true at all. If it were, I'd not be even bothering to post this response. Please tell me why BAK asked you to pay for new rails? Since I personally authorize all policy at Bak, I'd be really upset to learn that my staff required you to pay for anything under warranty. There's an obvious back story here that I'd like to know more about. Thanks.

I went to the site but did not see a video of the tonneau removal. Could you point me in the right direction?

    Hi,

I like my F1 but kick myself every time I get in rain or snow for not getting it sooner!

I installed my G2 this week with an electric pop and lock for security....I love the look and the ease of locking it with a click of the my key fob.I have 2 things I am working on...minor water leakage and where to run the drainage tubes.
By the way $595 including shipping and no tax!!!!

    Hi,

I ran my drainage tubes into the front side bed pockets. I snapped them out, drilled the appropriate sized hole from the back side and popped them back in.
They will need a clamp on the top and a little heat from a hair dryer makes them more flexible while routing.

I see plenty of posts here for where to place drain tubes. I in no way will take any credit to what I'm about to post as I found out about it from this forum from 2 different posts about the issue some of you are having. I don't have the exact post where it's from but I'll find it.

I have a BakFlip G2 just professionally installed the other day. They shoved the tubes in a compartment in the front of my bed on both sides. So of course, right out of the shop it rains...hard. Leaks all over the bed. Immediately, nightmares kicked in about hearing negatives from the cover itself. Well stupid me...I saw the water backed up into the drain tubes and had no where to go. Cursed up a storm in anger and frustration, as well as worries of "Will my bed leak?" or "Is this product not as good as people state?"

So I jumped here on the forum and found a few fellow members who made a home depot run for a simple piece of brass. It's called a Brass Hose Barb runs about $3 and change, I believe it's part # A-193 in the plumbing section of the store. If you need help, ask. That's what I did. I got the 3/8'' size but you can get ones bigger but need to drill bigger holes in your bed. Obviously, I have no intention of doing that right now as my truck is BRAND NEW. Also, as stupid as this sounds observe the ribs on the barb itself as I picked up 2 in different packages but same size and price. They weren't the same. I'm tedeious on it and wanted matching ones which they luckily had.

Run them to the front of the bed and into the drain holes. You'll need some teflex or teflon (forgot which name it is) tape also in the plumbing section to secure them in the hole for a tight fit. Mine right now are just sitting in the holes as it's been doing nothing but raining here and it's a test to see how well this cover will hold up now with the drain tubes in the right place finally.

I'll look back for the posts I saw on it and post the thread links here for you guys. For now, hope my long story helps you out!

Update: 10 months of use. Kids climbing on it. Dragging bike rack/load bar setup on and off. folding up against cab to haul firewood several times.
Still looks and works perfect. Rear lip still looks great and is not curling up.
I'm very pleased with my Fibermax so far.

The one bad thing I see about the BakFlip models is that I won't be able to use my rail tie down locations if I carry my motorcycle in the bed of the truck.

True. But probably should be using D rings for most of that load.

With respect, the two products are not the same. The BAK product is super robust, capable of handling hundreds of lbs of weight, and are CNC and poweder coated. They are also specially angled to fit perfectly. The BAK product is a real anchor point, not a d-ring. They are super heavy duty and once you feel the weight, I doubt very much whether you'll still feel that they are overpriced. They are not.
