Trust me when I say this.. In about 10+ years you are going to like and dislike a lot of different things, but one thing is certain, if you save your money you will be better off in the long run.

This is my 1st year LT'd, I've found that you will need money in the bank to cover what's going to eventually happen. Driving 50 and 60 through the desert takes a toll on things. Cost of keeping up with the truck is expensive.

Wow Jason, you are so kind amigo!

I actually just finish an outdoor lighting job in Ocean Hills (Leisure Village) not far from your place... Hooray work (as in a Red Stripe Beer commercial)!

I have an estimate tomorrow way down in Point Loma for irrigation. I love the dry weather!

So, like I keep my ears open for mechanical jobs for you, if you hear of any need for irrigation (drip or sprinklers), outdoor 12 v lighting, or drainage... I am the guy!:D Keep the gas tank in my Tacoma filled... as I would love to go four wheeling more, anytime, all the time! :)

A lot of doing it right is having a solid plan. It's the hidden costs, on wear items you don't think about. It's the gas money out to play a few times a month. If I had a long travel truck that I only used 10 times a year I would sell it.

It can all be done cheaper, but I pay a shop to do most/all. I paid $650 for my rack being replaced. I could have bought a used one on Ebay and installed myself for under $300 with an alignment but I wanted it installed so I could go out the following day to beat on it again lol

I've been pretty lucky I guess then, I've only broke some wheel studs on my adapters and have a mistery water leak(minus a blown tranny on the first trip out, but it did have 140k on it). I have about 10-15 trips on my truck.

    Will do David!

On a side note, I got a letter from CHP saying they want me to register my Jeep in California (It is registered in Az since I keep it there most of the time) and that they have an open investigation into the matter....sheesh. California trying to extort money at every level....how the hell do they assume that I even bring the Jeep here and also apparently they just assume that its used and stored primarily in Ca. I have never been pulled over in Ca in the Jeep even...mainly because its in Havasu most of the time anyway ...

Or someone turned you in - DMV has a website to report people that drive their car here primarily but have not updated to Cali registration.

Commie state... no freedom! A lot of vehicles have Oregon plates that are in CA all the time... North Dakota has a great system, too. Show them your AZ address on something... they can suck it.

Crazy huh? The Jeep is on Havasu MOST of the time, I DO have a valid Az residence, etc, etc...they are crazy if they think I am going to pay Ca registration on an Az vehicle, what is this state coming to....and they wonder why people are so frustrated with the state in general and the fees involved from every which direction and we get nothing in return except for making sure the illegals get everything they need and are well taken care of.

Dude seriously. I just got hit with like $380 on my registration last year...apparently I had an unpaid parking ticket, written by a San Diego Community College parking rent a cop...like...almost 2 years ago...so registration plus ticket plus late fees. I remember the ticket because I argued with the D-bag about it because I parked a single spot over from the visitors parking, in an unmarked spot and he said I was in Teachers parking. I didn't realize it was a valid ticket lol. Just thought it would show up the next time i went to get a parking pass from the college or something lol. Nope. Thanks California. oh? Whats that? You need to tax more of my stuff? Oh please do!

Nice excuse to not help california regardless of how much you like being here. and another fact most illegals if they drive pay CA registration that helps them not get caught.

    another fact.
