    Pioneer CD, Megaloud/JBL amps, Rockford/Polk speakers.
    For certain applications like a light switch plate, a slotted is easier in that one can use a coin to tighten the screw. That's about all I can think of.

    Also, slotted screws are harder to strip but unless you're using a poor quality screw just take your time and make sure you're set on the screw..
