NASCAR 2013 Season

I just hope Jeff Gordon makes a comeback this year, his driving really fell off the deep end it seemed like after 2001. Been 12 years, time to win number 5 for the 3rd most winningest driver in nascar history! Show Jimmie Johnson how it's done anyway. I honestly think that being a father now has altered his driving style, because in the 90s he was kicking ass left and right, sure gave Earnhardt a run for his money too. Ah those were the days, I loved that rivalry. That's what ultimately made me a nascar fan, that and my Grandpa Jack.

 

We are going to the race tomorrow, should be exciting. I haven't been to live race since I was a kid

 

Jeff has become more cautious in his driving. I think it has a lot to do with keeping himself from being hurt and ending his career. To be honest though, I don't think he was giving Dale Sr a run for his money. Most everything he knew he learned from Dale. He even said it during an interview. As for "The winningest" driver, Jeff still has a good shot at #3. He is currently listed at 6th with a career total of 81. He is actually one spot ahead of Dale Sr at 76 career wins.

Part of what makes Dale Sr the most popular driver of all time is that he is responsible for bringing Nascar into the spotlight it is today. With his help and hard work he brought Nascar out of the "good ole- boys" day of crashing and banging into a real sport. The man was an incredible driver, and a VERY smart business man. I truly feel that he had many more wins, and most likely even another championship under his belt before we lost him.

 

Gordon has had a lot of bad luck the last few years. I think when him and evernham split it hurt himj a lot. I think if chad and jimmie split the same thing would happen to the 48.

 

Why I can't stand Gordon:

 

... I don't even know what to say to that. NASCAR is more of a good ol boy sport. If he made his own beer that's cool. But wine?

 

I don't get it either. The guy has the smarts to invest his money wisely.

 

Maybe he enjoys making wine

What's wrong with making wine? He's from around my area, lot's of folks make wine in this region. But fifty a pop? For that kind of bread, it'd better get me laid

Owners have a way of screwing up good combo's. Penski, Hendrick, and Rouch have comitted some big mistakes moving or loosing good driver/crew chief combo's.

It's not just the owners. Many times it is the driver himself that screws things up. Don't just blame the owners.
