It's awesome. You can get immediate help in any way you want. You just need to be 1%, and be able to pay $200 for a $2 disposable gown.

The downside is that if they save your life, you'll be bankrupt and commit suicide.

Actually I think they should start charging people. Stop retards coming in with sniffles to the ER. Or calling the Ambulance for a stubbed toe.

Wait. So lets say in some very unlikely alternate universe, im an American citizen. Haha ya right  So I get into a horrible car crash which leaves me in state where i cant work, feed myself, or even take a shit without the proper plumbing equipment... I then have to pay the $1,XXXXXX hospital bill, or what?

    Makes sense

No, not neccesarily. It's a lot like gambling. If you have purchased insurance, it may or may not pay for some, most, or all of it. It depends on what level you have, and with which compnay of bloodsucking leeches you purchased it from.

If you don't have insurance or money, they'll patch you up in the county trauma ward, the taxpayers will eat the bill, and you'll go home to suffer or, if you are fortunate, make your entire family suffer.

Or, when you have your accident, have it very carefully and methodically so you only have injuries and long-term care needs that are covered by your particular plan.

Insurance is a confusing soup of mindboggling options of premiums, co-pays, assumed risk, financial well-being, and your ability to forsee your needs. You have to be the equivalent of a corporate accountant, tax expert, and practicing physician to make any sense of it. Luckily, Americans all know exactly what kind of disease or injury we'll be getting this year, so it is easy to make the correct choices when selecting bbenefits every year that change every year, or buying it on the open market. The important thing is that it maximizes corporate profit before maximizing human wellbeing. Because first and foremost, medicine is business.

Oh, I should add that the doctors have difficulty affording malpractice insurance.

    Bizness, Mkay?

I see. So what is the average monthly/yearly cost for your average middle class individual under the average insurance company?

For example, here in BC, if you make more than $30k/year(not including deductables) you end up paying 100% of your basic medical coverage. Which is roughly $650/year. I dont know exactly what this really covers, maybe OZ can chime in.

For family coverage the cost is usually around $550 a month depending on the options your company offers.

$450/mo for me and the wife (no dependents) under an HMO, which is the most comprehensive coverage offered through my company's benefits. That does not include dental or vision of course.

The next election is being rigged right now!
Federal Boundary Commission is redistributing Canadian r...idings to favour election of Conservative Party of Canada candidates in future federal elections. Proof » http://fed2013.pollmaps.ca/

Canada’s new electoral map - Canada is getting 30 new seats — the largest addition in Canadian history. New seats will help tories win in 2015

adding seats to the HOC has been in the works for a few years. based on population Alberta, BC, and Ontario are currently underrepresented in the HOC.

True, but the redrawing of ridings.. was it really necessary? Seems fishy.

the combined population of AB and BC is ~8 million, the population of Quebec is ~7.9 million.
between AB and BC there are 64 seats in the HOC compared to 75 for Quebec.

    from the link you posted:
While the Conservatives might stand to gain with the addition of seats in Alberta (six), British Columbia (six), Quebec (three) and Ontario (15), the party in power has no say over the way the map is re-configured. That messy job, done once a decade based on census data, is in the hands of each province’s appointed, independent three-person commission.

That I was not aware of, I assumed the new ridding lines were a brainchild of the current federal government.

Of course Now I'm wondering who if anyone is influencing this 3-person commission.
