Just a few little things. It's my DD
I have a electric two wheel drive truck. I was thinking something like WD-40? Would that work spraying the parts?

if you've driven around in the water and trying to get water out of/off of the electronics, wd40 is the way to go, but it makes for a terrible lubricant.

so you have some real nice acceleration lol. any idea on your top speed with the 2400?

i don't plan on submerging it,, or even driving through puddles really, but some wet clay or slightly muddy environments aren't out of the question.

Imo it would be better to pull it apart and grease it properly, i stay away from wd-40 on almost everything. A 2wd is very simple to pull apart, not too many moving parts, plus you get to learn your r/c in and out. i also use a compresser to dust off anything i run if its not too dirty. Keeping it clean will make everything last much longer.

How do I isolate radio interference from the battery and servo wires on my nitro Jato? If I stuff the receiver into the plastic box with the wires around it, it just freaks out and hits the gas and brake by itself. I also get about 10 feet of range. If I pull the receiver out of the box and leave it hanging on top of the fuel tank, it will run about 100'.

it lites up all 4 wheels from a decent roll on 3s, its been awhile but i believe it was 54mph with a 3s, and 72 on 4s, that was geared low for the motor and was using a huge garmin gps. I never geared it higher for lack of control it already had.

For just little puddles and mud i think your fine with leaving it alone, i have the first sidewinder esc with no fan and i read alot of people burned them up trying to waterproof them and ended up making them not be able to breath and over heat. mine has been wet, i hosed it off a few times when i had it in my exo.

im not too familiar with the jato or a nitro one, is it 2.4 or 27mhz? Are you wrapping the antenna wire in the box also? It should not be having any interferance with the battery or servo wires.

just wrapped my phone in foam and taped it to the top of the body. gps came back at 41mph on the 2s. i don't have a 3s yet, so no numbers for that. i'm geared way wrong though. it'll do the 4 wheel burn out from half speed. i think i could see 60+ with a regear and 3s. maybe higher if i'm lucky. may need to get a stronger steering servo or at the very least tighten the servo saver before i try that.

27mhz. Here's a pic of all the the wire that's in the box with it. If the receiver is away from the wires it's fine. I tried fishing them all into the battery box part but then the battery doesn't fit right.

Im not too sure on what to say on that, have you checked your batterys in your t/x to make sure they are fully charged? To me it seems like it has a very weak signal, when its crammed in the box its losing the signal, but out of the box with no obstructions its working, being with the battery/servo wires should not be screweing with it.

If its not your t/x batterys and your antenna is good no kinks or anything im out of guesses

It wouldnt be a bad idea to pick up a 2.4 for it, you can find them pretty cheap, i got a traxxas 4ch tq rx/tx im selling :D

could it just be a loose pin foing into the reciever? maybe when it's crammed into the box, it gets torqued and doesn't make a good connection, but when it's taken out of the box, the plug is allowed to sit properly???

It seems like this might be part of the issue, but another part is when the receiver is in the box there's interference from something that makes the servos move by themselves, even when I'm holding both the car and radio right next to each other. As soon as the receiver isn't in the box this completely stops. It's like there's voltage flowing through the wires that trigger something in the receiver. I think I might just replace it with a 2.4.

I have some action shots coming up soon. Guy just has to get them all uploaded and edited.

I raced mod stadium truck for the first time in 13 years and won! I got 3rd in buggy because a slower driver was protecting his line and getting bitchy when I'd cut in to pass so I backed off to avoid club track drama.

So i'm having range issues again, similar to about a week ago when i first got the truck. only getting about 15 feet of range before everything cuts out and the esc starts sounding the "where is the remote" beep.

Eric, i tried shortening the wires like you were talking about earlier, but that didn't help. put a piece of shrink tube on to hold them together instead of braiding. really hoping i don't have another bad receiver....

i did...it took an hour and 30 for them to finally get me off hold/call back...new batterybox and free tool kit and now going to make sure they send screws as well. i was able to get 2 out...the other 2....i took a torch to a knife and precisely cut the plastic so i can charge my lipo and use my sct10 today. not saying this is a bad truck already...but too much as gone wrong ha. all for 2 fucking allen screws. they torqued them down so bloody hard i cant believe it. they dont even tell you how to remove the lipo/get to it in the manual.
