    Hi All,

Just curious what set-up people are using on their late model Tacomas. Right now I just have a Harbor Freight cheapo bumper mount receiver that I'm not too comfortable with. I tow a ~ 1700lb boat/trailer. My dealer wants $335 for the Toyota set-up. I looked at Pep-Boys, and they have a Reese receiver that looks pretty beefy. But they only list them for up to year model 06 . . . Isn't the 06 pretty much the same as the 08?!. The guy gave me 2 other options (different brands, he'd have to order): one for $189, the other for $231 - but I couldn't check them out.
Anyone mount the ~06 Reese receiver on their 08 or newer Tacoma? Other suggestions?

    Thanks, JB

If it fits an '06, it'll fit your '08. No worries.

Actually, (I'm hoping) anything that fits an '05, should fit an 08' right? Reason I mention this is because I think I remember now that the Reese part fits up to '05 Tacoma standard, and '06 Pre-runner?!? Aren't the frames the same back where the bumper mounts? Don't know how they come up with these cut off dates in their catalog . . .

Frame is the same 05 and up, across the entire model range. Just make sure that they have the hitch tagged correctly, ie: check the reese website, and compare that part number to the one at pep boys. Can't trust the employees at pep boys to tag things correctly.

Yeah... anything off of an 05+ Taco should fit any other 05+ Taco.

Let us know how the install goes.
