    I've installed a Uniden 520xl. Mount, spring, and antenna from Firestik, 18' of antenna cable. All from Amazon. All i have to do is hard wire the CB in, it currently has no power. Mounted it in the ashtray hole.

    Also Tom, If you use the same CB and location, you'll need an elbow connector between the back of the unit and the antenna cable, otherwise it sticks out too far.

    I should be in abq on Thursday for a few hours to pick up my buddy from the airport. I'll be happy to help out with tuning a CB if anyone is free. I'll even bring my swr meter.

    I've had to adjust mine a few times due to trees wanting my caps on my antennae, now I just retuned it with heat shrink. Hope it doesn't go anywhere.

    Emily is a great kid! Some very good parenting going on there, IMO. :cool:

    If she ever gets into sports, I'd be glad to come out & cheer for her. I used to really enjoy watching my kids' basketball games.

    Her favorite thing in the world is her Kindle we just gave her.

    I'm doing either a tab mounted where my invisible tailgate latch is or coming from inside where the taillight is mounted. That or drill a hole in the bed rail at the back where there is access through the inner skin. Might eventually mount it on my bed rack when it arrives, so drilling is the last option. I can show you where I ran mine through the bed and into a grommet in the cab, then under the carpet to the dash. Surprisingly easy.
