The green ones look pretty sick. I ended up with the bars too ;)

That definitely sucks. Been there; done that. Hope you heal quickly.

Oh Crap! I broke my wrist pretty bad racing DH a few years ago. I have two titanium pins keeping it together. No worries though. I still race pretty hard with it and it doesn't bother me at all now. Just make sure you work hard in PT. If you don't you'll have serious issues with range of motion. Good luck and get back out there ASAP!

Yea I have a cast now. I think once I'm healed up I'm gonna start riding with some sort of wrist bracing. I'll probably also wear some sort of soft shell knee pads because I bruised my knees a bit when my bike fell out from under me. I hope this heals quick because I just wanna start riding again haha.

I was amazed by all the stuff I did with my left hand that I couldn't while it was in a cast.

If you cruise down to Walgreens or someplace like that, you can find a pretty cool cover that will let you take a shower w/o getting your cast wet. No wrapping it in a towel and trying to shower one handed either.

Yea the doctor was telling me about that cast bag thing but I haven't checked it out yet. And yea I was surprised at how much I use my left wrist even when I'm actually using my right.

i started wearing kneepads not because i fell on my knees but more for when i fall and hit my knees on the frame. I fell in like may or june and my knees were so banged up from the frame. almost as much damage as my elbow took when i slid across rocks and dirt haha

I run a Ardent 2.4 on the front so I haven't gone to a suspension fork. The large volume tire and slack HA makes it ride surprisingly soft on the front end. Being a SS, the rigid is really nice when climbing.

Did you buy a G2 fork or just a standard offset?

    Yeah.
I like the tire combination that came on it, but I switched to the tubeless version on the new set. I ride FS on most trails, so fully rigid wasn't working out well for me (plus I am old and need the extra cushion).

I lucked out and found a guy on eBay with a brand-new Cobia that he was converting to fully rigid, so I did get a G2 offset fork. This thing rides and handles like a dream on smooth, twisty singletrack!

    Yeah.
Steel, baby, old school! Modern geometry meets traditional materials and design. A little heavy, but fun to ride!

not as bad as a broken wrist but I had a nasty spill this weekend too. My first ride on clipless on the trails. I came down a a semi fast hil then into a right turn, lots of loose gravel at the bottom and my bike washed out from under me.
I hit my head pretty hard on the ground and banged up my right leg

Glad it wasn't worse. I don't mind if the bike needs new parts as I can fix that much faster than I can heal from riding preventing injuries so you 2 have convinced me into putting platforms back on my mt bike. I don't mind scrapes or bruises because that's part of the show but broken shit is a no go for me. I did do my 2nd successful offroad ride this weekend upping the trail difficulty from the first clipless ride but I just don't feel comfortable with it and it takes a certain amount of fun out of it for me I'm not sure is worth the tradeoff to me. When I'm riding I want to focus on the trails first and foremost, not my bike.

I need a new rear tire pretty bad. Im going to replace that and I think I will be ok.
Im also going to order a set of platforms so I can alternate back and forth it I want to.

As we are talking about spills...

Rode yesterday and took a wrong turn into a bunch of sand. Ended up flipping over the handle bars  my bike and i are fine though so all was well.

And i need new tires as well...

Going to get back into racing downhill competitively this season after 4-5 years of school, internships, and low funds. It's nice to be able to afford your hobbies! Might take me a while to work back up to the semi-pro level I was at before my hiatus, but something so fun can hardly be considered work :)

Built the Turner 5-Spot up over the last few weeks with aggressive XC and all-mountain trail slaying in mind. *Some* climbing accepted.
The DHR was built up around Thanksgiving and it is a BEAST!

Both of them ride like they're on rails and love to be pointed DOWNhill!
