    I am doing the same thing for my church. The cablers ran 3 of the cables too short. I will need to do a splice to get them into the patch panel. Never have an electrician do a phone man's job. Electricians do not understand phone and data cabling.

    I have 1000' of cat 6 already. I'm going to do 2 runs of cat 6 and 1 run of RG 6 to every room. I'm also going to run a 2" pvc from the basement to the attic so i can make more runs if necessary.

    Maybe I should say very few understand. ;) The electricians used staples that you secure BX cable with to fasten the Cat 6 cables to the floor beams in the basement. Real Quality Work. LOL

    I will be replacing them next week with proper hangers.

    You will probably be OK with a 2in condit. Be sure to install a drag line on the install to make the cable pulling easier. When you pull in the cable also install another drag line for future use.

    If you are gonna do something like dumb like run a conduit up from conditioned space to non conditioned space just make sure you seal and insulate it

    unless you plan on running 20+ cables after the fact 2" is more than sufficient.
