No options on the single cab:confused: I even had to add int wipers. Finding a single cab 4x4 with a manual was impossible. When I did find one when looking at dealer web sites, they were gone in no time.:( A single cab with V6 would be a nice option.

As far as plastic goes, the interior fit/finish feels pretty nice in my '13 dc TRD sport.

THIS! and IT’S A MID SIZE TRUCK, Not a car or a full size truck.

I have seen a lot of what people complain about on full size trucks.

013 access cab sr5 base. My first ever toyota. I have never been a fan of imports. I bought because #1, no new small gm available. #2, no new small Ford available. #3, no new small dodge available. #4, I liked it better than the only other choice for 013, the frontier.

    Dislikes;
    Stereo fidelity is horrible.
Rear door pillar obstructs driver entry
    Rear door glass dont open.
Tilt wheel moves so little, its useless.
    No front splash guards available.
    No front plate bracket.
Center console auto shift rob legs spread room.

    Likes;
    That 2.7vvti 4cyl is a champ.
Awesome mpg, 26 last hghwy trip in wht mountains on winter blend fuel!
    Smoooth riding, and shifting.
Interior has decent storage and looks nice.
Composite bed with multi anchor points....nice.
    Fun to drive.
    hey, a rear slider!
    Bluetooth and touchscreen head unit.
I like the front end / grill appearance.
Should be a good value, despite too much cost upfront for a 2wd.

For perspective, I have always been an F-150 owner and switched to the Tacoma solely on MPG.

    Dislikes:
    rides rough
    GD front wheel bearings
Seats are not as comfortable as what I am used to
    Drum brakes on the rear
    No fog light indicator
    Non-lighted 4x4 switch

Man, really? I rented an F150 last summer for a few weeks and I couldn't wait to get back to the comfort of my Taco's seats. I hear a fair number of folks complaining about the comfort of the seats in Tacomas and I just don't get it. As somebody who suffers chronic back problems, they are some of the most comfortable seats I have ever sat it.

    • Poor mpg that seems to get worse with vehicle's age
    • Weak front end components (particularly front diff needle bearings and front wheel bearings)
    • Control arm bushings that seize with age and F up your alignment
    • Cheap plastic interior trim that scratches just by sneezing on it
    • Cloth seats stained easily
    • No mpg/miles-to-empty readout
    • Most buttons & switches are not illuminated
    • No interior AC outlet (why only have one outside but not inside?)
    • Lots of road noise & vibrations
    • Sunroof option would have been nice
    • Weak paint that chips easily

x2 i think the tacos seats are very comfy(as well as the FJ seats) but i have been in mine on 655 mile (10 to 12hours) road trips and butt or back NEVER even start to hurt. can’t say the same for dads ’00 tundra. and buddys dad had an f150 for a little bit i did not like the seats in that either.

two things.I prefer a manual shift for the 4x4.wish the instrument cluster didn't always light up.I keep forgeting to turn on the headlights because I can already see the dash lit up.

No heated mirrors is really my only gripe. That stuff should be standard on a vehicle in Canada lol

I have to agree. I had an f150 when my last Tacoma was busted up and insurance was trying to figure out what to do. I couldn't wait to get back in a Tacoma. I don't think my wife's BMW -pos suv is as comfortable as my Tacoma.

What I've discovered is that Tacomas are great if you have no ass and a bad back. ( Im just waiting on the surgery, the verdict has already come down) This according to the wife who has an ass v. Me who doesnt but acts like one...when we compared notes on the seats.

i dont like how many nuts/bolts hold the damn fenders on...
or how hard it was to remove the antenna base from the fender... which i did not and ended up cutting the cable

My main issues after owning an 07 and now a 13:
    -it's incredibly easy to dent/ding
-You need the stereo upgrade to get HD Radio
-Whether an MS or Toyota issue, I can't stand that the USB port only works for flash drives or apple products.
-Basic reporting like MPG should be standard.
    -Cargo lamp is needed.
-I liked the garage door holder in my 07 now I have 2 holders for glasses yet 1 set of eyes...
-why are my stereo buttons white, driver controls green?
-I still don't trust the tailgate after breaking one in half.

Having said that.. Loved my first Taco, love my current one, there isn't a vehicle I would rather have.

Things they got right on the 13 v 07:
    Aux port, huge win
    Blue toothe
    Standard steering wheel controls
    Love the new front end
New seat fabric is a bit more aggressive
Fold down rear headrests are a great improvement for visibility
    Backup camera a huge win

Things they had right all along:
-Double Cab interior, specifically fold down rear and passenger seats
    -Child seat set-up
-Textured lower part of the body
-making use of bed space with the covered compartments.
-Easy to work on (imo) compared to other makes & models
    -I like the composit bed.

Storage compartments in bed dont lock

And can a guy get a light or two

I can do without a mpg readout. My last car had one and it was more depressing then informative.

I'm with you.. I find the seats very supportive and comfy. I work with a guy with a taco dc base model and he said mine are much nicer than his so who knows.. maybe the padding/shape is different too in addition to the fabric...
