I ended up riding from Aptos to Sand Point, and down Westridge to Olive springs on Sunday. Turned into about a 25-30 mile ride. Feeling it today!

do you use riding shorts with a chamois. That should help to get if you dont already. i like bibs, they dont slide down when your riding like regular shorts would.

no I dont. I normally wear athletic/compression boxer briefs (non cotton) and a pair of fox riding shorts or cargo shorts. No inserts or padding in them or anything though.

I dont really want to wear skin tight shorts on the outside when riding though. Do they make padded undershorts for biking?

Nice DHR! A buddy has a DHR and I always liked how it rode. Also, UCI doesn't have semi-pro classes any more. You either have to race Cat. 1 (Expert) or Pro. Good luck.

I have regular tight shorts with padding and wear a pr of regular looking pearl izumi shorts that have no padding over them for road or offroad rides. Yes, there are regular looking shorts with padding.

Thanks man! Yea, kind of dated myself there but I'm aware. I more-so meant working back up that level of speed, etc. :)

Have a feeling I will give it a go in Cat 1 for the first few local races and see how it goes from there. Even the somewhat "bigger" regional races like at Snowshoe, WV have a pro field stacked with talent. It basically comes down to one decision - do I take the a$$-whooping from all the crazy fast young bucks coming up or pseudo-sandbag in Cat 1.

yeah ive been wearing something like those , i just got a bib and like that a lot better, although they are way more expensive. i usually wear them under baggy mountain bike shorts especially since it has been cold out. its gonna be tough for me to start racing in tights in the fall haha

I've made the mistake twice of riding in boxers (I usually ride in athletic boxer briefs) and managed to sit on my own nuts. That was not fun at all.

    Yeah.
When riding season starts back up, I have a sore butt, neck, and usually nuts. Takes a bit to get the groove back.

Do not wear bibs. Never wear bibs. If you do, don't tell anyone about it. Mountain bikers do not wear bibs. Ever.

voted... Never ridden there, but the riding at Black Rock outside of Salem was fvcking amazing, the kind of stuff we dream about. I will hopefully be back this year. The only thing that could make BR better would be a dedicated shuttle or even some sort of j-hook lift!

Definitely. I live on the other side of the country so don't wait up for me :D

The Covert is a sweet ride for AM/aggressive XC type stuff. I would keep it if possible AND get the TR250. Anything Transition is primo.

BTW - I am drooling over your truck!
