    How do you like your healthcare system overall? I know with all the debate with health Cate reform here I'd always hear co workers who are opposed to it saying how "socialized medicine" doesn't wok just look at Canada. I'm always thinking I don't know that many Canadians but I've never really heard complaints and ive always seen polls and surveys showing something around an 80% approval rate of how the system works.

    our system is great until you need more than a cast or stitches, then it's downright pathetic. I messed up my knee early October, my MRI is scheduled for May 1st.

    My aunt in Canada waited 7 years for a hip replacement in terrible pain. Why? Being over 60 she is not seen as a priority. Believe me I hate her with all I have, but like you said it's good until you need something more than a look see.

    My MIL needed an MRI and got one the following week and surgery the week following that and the week following that she didn't get a bill for $50K

    OZ, how much is gas up there now? Are you guys getting hiked up also? I've heard parts of California are over $5/gal but where I'm at it's been pretty steady for a while around $3.70/gal.

    Yesterday regular gas was $1.339 / litre where I live , that's about $5.20 / US gallon

    Ouch. They keep threatening that our prices are going to jump quite a bit this coming summer, if we were to reach $5/gal though, I think I'd be looking for a commuter car for work :eek:

    In a lot of place in the world, gas is and has been SUPER expensive since like the 70's. When I was in Australia all the gas station signs were somehwhere around 3.00, and I though that wasn't really too bad. Until I went to fill up and realized that it's 3.00 PER LITER, not per gallon. So yeah, they are paying like over $10 a gallon. The exchange rate is pretty spot on with our dollar, too. It's crazy. It's a similiar situation in parts of Europe, too.
