Always liked VWs. I will NEVER be like Fred.

I should have bought a 'runner instead of the Jeep. Always liked them and 100k is no big deal for them. Just change the timing belt and go.

    House is becoming :goingcrazy:

All the windows are in, they started the HVAC yesterday, plumbing and electrical today. They are supposed to be done with all of it next friday (yes 10 days from now) and he wants to start drywalling on the 20th or 21st. That means i have a shit ton of stuff to do between now and then.

I always liked the way VWs DRIVE. I hate how they have a million other problems. Wife's 2002 Jetta: wrong rings in engine, high oil consumption. Sunroof drains plug easily and flood interior. Sunroof has buggy operation, gets stuck open one in a while. Randomly. Random open door chimes and interior lights come on while driving. Trunk latch failures, two of them. Stereo buggines (on the best factory option stereo). Interior finish peeling off on door handles, etc. Broken arm rest bin latch.

    It's like a Rover-Fiat joint venture.

I used to be a VW guy, had a 74 bug, 80 Fox wagon, 83 Rabbit and a 85 Golf. All of them were excellent. My daughter got an 02 New Beetle new and had nothing but problems with it from day one, so I'm not sure if I'd get another one. I definitely would look at them if I was in the market for a sedan though. I've been trying to talk the wife into a Mini Cooper Clubman for our second car when the 4Runner finally decides to quit. No luck there yet. Oh, and good morning people.

    You sure about that?
You know Toys, you know the common problems with Toys and how to fix them...why go to another vehicle that you aren't familiar with?

    :goingcrazy: get to it man!

    Yugo?

I love Mini's! Nice cars, pricy though. Did you see the mini Mini's that they had at the Olympics last summer?

Because I never drank the Kool Aid. Toyotas are nice and some are reliable, but they are bland. And why not learn something new.

Yes, yes she went to Scheisskopfendouchenburg, Germany, and designed and built everything, then shipped it here and sold it to herself. That is exactly what happened. Totally her fault.

It is a manual. Give her some credit. But just some, not a lot.

The mini Mini's were pretty cool. New Clubman's are listing at around 25,800, but they go up real fast when you add in a few options. I'd be looking used. Jodi seems dead set against them for some reason, says she doesn't her ass dragging on the road. Her choice is a Rav 4, nice vehicles but kind of boring (to me, anyway). And pricier than the Clubman.
