Shoot, I wish I had an Offroad instead of the Sport to do the locker mod, abs, VSC stuff detailed earlier.

Here is a mod originally from TRDtoy79.
It is one of my favorites because it's free and clever (only for 2008):

How much are you willing to pay for me to tell you the code that turns the seat belt chime off?

No, I'm not kidding. I have the code and tested it on my '08 Taco.

No takers??? Fine then! Hope you enjoy listening to that endless, annoying seat belt chime.

OK, I give. Here it is. BTW you guys are no fun :

    1) Turn the Car 'ON', but do not start the engine (Leave your foot off the brake). Cycle your trip reset knob until it reads ODO. Turn the ignition back off. Wait a couple of seconds.
    2) Make sure seat belt is not fastened
    3) Turn the ignition back on, do not start the car (Leave you foot off the break) As soon as you see everything light up, press and hold the trip reset knob and do a long 12 second count.
    4) Keep your finger on the trip reset knob. Fasten your seat belt, as soon as you fasten your seat belt, you should see the ODO display go from XXXX miles to "b-on". At that time take your finger off the trip reset knob and press it again. It should cycle to "b-off". You should be all set and turn the ignition off and unfasten your seat belt.

    SWEET!!

EDIT: i am pretty sure this works on 09's b/c i did it and at least got the b-on to b-off!

This worked on my 09. It beeps when you first start the truck, but it won't beep after that. I always wear my belt, but the beep is annoying if I set my bowling ball in the passenger seat. It thinks somebody is sitting there and is annoying as hell. ;)

Thanks, I just did it on my 09 and it worked no problem.

I've only owned the truck one day, and it was already driving me nuts. :D

Oh god I can't wait to do this! I always wear my belt, but any time I get out (like to get my mail) I have to listen to this damn reminder. Wasn't a light and a few dings enough?!

    Thanks :)

This was one of the first "mods" I did when I got my truck.

And for all those that wear their seat belts,

My sister in law lives 6 houses from me, so I never wear my seatbelt if I drive there...

This mod does not work on my 09 (it was built 3 months ago in Cali) It's really bugging me. Any other 2009 tacos experiencing issues with this mod. I would really appreciate any input.

If I wait until "everything light up" and hold for 12 seconds nothing happens. When I release after 12 seconds or more the display cycles to Trip A.
However, if I press and hold the trip at the same time as I turn the ignition to "ON" there are five "-----" which count down until there are none then it displays "000000". (BTW I was told after an oil change to do this exact thing.)
I can't get the display to show "XXXXXX".

Hopefully I'm just missing something minor, cause I hate that chime. Can anyone with a 2009 clarify the procedure for me?

Yeah, that was the problem, I guess I didn't hold it long enough (holy shit I've tried this 20 times at least.)

But now my seat belt chime is off and I've never been happier! Thanks!
