    same here. i know if i practiced i'd get better at deadlifts, but i just love squats anyway

    How tall are you? I'm 5'11 thinking its my height that's working against me. I see a lot of shorter guys doing 2-3 plates. I'm pulling 185

    I'm 5'11" and have no problems.......want to get better? Deadlift more!

    I personally think the deadlift is better as it works the entire body even quads to a degree but primarily the back and abs which people need more of!

    I should post up in this thread more, but, couldnt agree more.

    Deadlifts are a killer workout. Since I started training heavy deadlifts every week, every other lift increased as well

    I 3 plate at 5'8. Stronglifts 5x5 willmakes your deads sky rocket. What part of the lift are you failing at?

    Yeah I'm doing strong lifts again. Not really failing more of a matter of strength.

    I have a friend that doesn't do well at bench press.

    I know it's a matter of building and it takes time (as everything else) just thought I'd rant.

    I just warmed up with pull ups last night.

    Strict form.
    10/8/7
    Deadlift
    1x20 at 135
    5x15 at 225
    2x8 at 315

    then I did other various back work and hit arms as well. It's a nice change of pace from only hitting 4-6 reps for so long. It's also different hitting isolation lifts after focusing on only compound movements for the better part of a year.

    My max deadlift has been 405, and squat was about 275 ish.

    Work on grip strength, and forearm strength. I have a few grippers laying around my house, in the 200-300 lb range. I grab them every so often and bang out some reps.
