Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders

Lol i did it that way also, requires a lot less bondo. My 2012 satoshi i did in all fiberglass though, definitely a lot more work. Dave you should do regular bondo for your first coat then use finishing putty for the final coats, it comes out smooth as glass

Evan I'm doing as much fiberglass possible just because I've worked around this stuff for awhile. I'm actually filling right now with cloth I did use Mat one the back. This thing is gaining some weight. When I'm done with the glass ill be using glass filler sand that then spot putty. The reason behind all the glass is because the 1st gen grill is floppy with out the center section and I fell that if I used more bondo than glass it will have no give I want some flex.
    What I'm looking at now

Nice dave, thats a good call. It will definitely strengthen the grill. I just know sanding that stuff as well as bondo can be a pain in the ass

I'll be doing the same to my OEM one and selling that, It's chrome but i can fully remove the chrome also. The one I'm making now is the way i think a satoshi should look. I have about 8 hours into it now 2 hours a day so like 10 more days and i'll be done

Riding any bike without proper footwear isnt the best idea, but with an exposed chain drive bike, you could easily lose a toe/toes in a minor accident by getting them stuck in the chain.

I ride in sneakers, which isnt a great idea, but its more protection than flip flops

I saw pics of your bike before, that thing is clean! I loved my old 80's dirt bikes, they were all tanks. I used to have a '95 XT 350 and it was nice but also my reason for being apprehensive about getting another dual sport. At the time, I was riding a lot of tight trails and the 350 was a bit much off road and wouldn't quite get going on the road. It'd hold 60 but above that it was screaming. 70 was it's max. I want something with a max around 90 or higher.

That's good to hear about the WR250X. Realistically, I'll probably keep my Katana and pick up a smaller dual sport to mess with on the weekends and trails. If I could afford one, I'd get the Ducati Hypermoto. That thing is disgusting fast, powerful and nimble

You must have missed that part about being broke  Plus I think I need something bigger, that will hold highway speeds.

I actually like the newer Sportsters but I hate ape hangers on any bike. I think they're awful. I like drag bars and actually don't mind the stock bars.

Yeah, and holy maintenance costs batman

All your gear all the time!

Only 90? My 750 will hit that in 3rd gear with 3 more to go :D
