    Ben, skinny tires provide more lateral traction, wide tires provide more forward. Remember the zuki with the 16.5" wides when we were snow wheeling? If you couldn't even get up the hill with chains I think weight on your rear end might be the issue.

    I am running 10" wide KM2's and I did a lot of ice and snow driving on them this winter and they did just fine. Even did 75+ down the freeway in the snow in them with no issues. I have been running them at 20 psi almost all winter though. My guess is that is what has helped me so much.

    The only advantage I can truly say for wide tires vs skinny, is that skinny tires will start to flex sooner as you start dropping the psi. More flex means less clearance. Like my KM2's, at 42 psi they measure 33" at 20 psi they measure 32" at trail or snow psi probably closer to 31". That zuki that was on 16.5" wide tires was a 4 psi and had pretty much zero side wall flex so he was maintaining height. Yes he is way lighter than me, but just trying to show my point. Put my KM2's on that zuki and drop them to 4 psi and they would probably look flat or damn close.
