I found a guy selling used Donahoe 2.5" coils for 350 OBO with about 7000 miles on them, they dont look to bad at all. Ive seen people buy them used and rebuild them, its just sketchy buying used coils.

Whats the price for a rebuild?
    Should I buy them?
How much to ship them 160 miles?

They look to be in pretty decent shape......I'd send them to Icon for a re-build. They charge $125 a shock and will switch out the DR tops for Icon one's. Hit up the Icon rep in the vendors section and shoot them a PM.

My Buddy deals with suspension and builds trophy trucks for a living so he can do it if he knows the specs on how much oil and what shims I want to run, but I'm guessing its 125 a shock plus shippinh

Ya, just shoot them a PM and have them send you 2 re-build kits. Someone else had them and think they paid $35 a kit. Icon will give you all the info needed.

That a sick deal man! Got mine for $600 with 30k miles and haven't needed a re-build. I read somewhere DR only re-built those every 100k miles even the one's raced in baja and other races! Look it up....2004(I think) with a stock class 1st Gen!

Picked up my used Icon ext. travel resis for $600 from a fellow member, and they had at least 30k on them. No rebuild necessary after the 5,000 I've put on them so far. Very tough coilover.

I wouldn't sweat it.....offer him $300 shipped and paypal his ass before he changes his mind! LOL

It's a re-buildable race shock, worst case they need a re-build and new coils (doubt it but $150?).....they should still honor any defect breakage too.

Yeah i know what you mean, hes pricing out shipping right now for me, but theres also another guy i found that has 3.5" donahoe coils for $500 but i only want to lift my truck 2.25"

I have 2" spacers right now and it sucks because i cant hit the dirt without my truck rattling apart

Well, these are adjustable so you can set that at any height you want. They go to 3.5" of lift maximum.

The 2.5" you're buying is the diameter of the shock, not the lift height.

By the looks of the photos, one is set to 0" of lift, the other is around 3" of lift. Not sure why one is cranked down and the other is not.

The 3.5" are prob ext travel which you'll need UCA's for. You can set whatever height you want. Compared to spacers you'll have a boner for a week straight everytime you hit something!

Mine are at 2-2.5" lift w/o sway bar and their buttery goodness!

Oh thats right about the diameter, but now im stoked, I was going to go with 5100s all around with OME 884xs because i have an access cab 2wd with no winch or any added weight but now that i can adjust them to whatever height makes it so much better

After speaking with Icon about this, my rule of thumb is not to rebuild until they're leaking.

Just need to figure what to do for the back, I'm keeping it at the stock height so maybe 5100s?

Those will work....so will icons and fox OEM replacements! They'll work for 0-2" of rear lift!

The Icons would match the valving of the front better!
