So, most of us here already know the 530T is required unless someone finds a direct replacement switch board with the proper "Switch" on it.

Lets ALL move past the DEI solution and focus on OEM direct swap solutions.

Ideally we would need someone who has access to the wiring schematics from both the Tacoma and the possible doner car to see if the wiring is similar/ compatible with each other. Is there anybody reading this thread that is a toyota or Lexus tech who might have this access?

Thats the least of our worrys. Finding the Donor piece is the first hurdle. Wiring can not be that different. I'd venture that they are the same. +-1 wire for dimmer.

I had to rent a van once for work and it was a Toyota Sienna. The window door switches on the drivers door were auto up/down for all windows, and it looked exactly like my switch panel in my truck. It must be in the switch panel and not from some other source. I wonder if this could be a direct swap from another Toyota vehicle.

I just bought some window control panels from a Prius (all doors, auto up/down). My goal is to cut out the controls, and cut out the controls of a taco control panel, then plastic weld the Prius controls in their place so as to keep the mounting mechanisms for the taco, then wore them up in place. Anyone have the wiring schematics for both vehicles?

I'm pretty sure the control of the windows is written into the controller's furry little brain changing switches won't do it. My VW had a can buss in the OB2 line that allowed me to write code to several controllers when I got it l right it would put up the windows close the sun roof and lock the doors with the fob open them too on unlock.

On some vehicles, yes , your correct. Not on the toyotas. If you look at the boards from the switches, you will see there is a difference.

Ok, after many painstaking minutes :) I have taken apart the controls for the Prius... The passenger doors are simple switches, so the mechanism for those is probably external (dangit) but the master is a circuit board. Pics attached. Ill work on ripping apart the taco ones next, although I'm weary about that... (It's my new toy!)ImageUploadedByTapatalk1362958691.009097.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1362958698.808972.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1362958705.758909.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1362958712.458961.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1362958718.508861.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1362958724.542207.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1362958731.991871.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1362958739.409300.jpg

Ok we'll we can definitely count on Toyota for consistency... Here is a picture of the Prius controls mounted in the taco bezel. It's a direct match, bolt-on part. Even the window lock and door locks buttons are the same. The taco one is on the right.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1362961295.953241.jpg

Same story for the rest of the switches. The housings are identical. Guts are just different. So, the conclusion is that the auto-up auto-down feature must rest in the relay elsewhere? Or are all of the slave switches wired back to the master at the driver panel? If so, then replacing the whole set of switches should do the trick, no? :) someone please say yes.

Ok, last post of the day on this. I grabbed the wiring diagrams and what-not from techinfo.toyota.com, however I am not sure I am reading them right. I'll attach them here for someone with a little more experience to read, but from what I can discern it seems like all of the switch's work through the master control panel, however for the auto-up/down to work the window motor/regulator needs to be capable. Could be wrong though.

I looked at some pictures on ebay of the different motors, and it seems like the prius window motor has more pins... but the photos were fuzzy, so I am not too sure. Looking at the wiring diagrams, they definitely seem to be more complicated than the one on the taco.

I have a buddy with a gen 3 prius and next weekend we are going to take both mine and his door panels off and do some inspections, so i'll update everyone then.

I want to say that the load sensing part that tells the auto window to stop is in the switch itself. Do the auto switches from the Prius have a second detent when you push it down farther that engages the auto feature?

Yes. They click once for manual, then click and bounce back for auto. Up and down.
