I almost went with a fabtech 6" lift kit, but after doing a ton of research I found LT was the best lift, performance and gave my truck a 4" lift.

How does the 6" lift drive?

How's the ground clearance of yours? I'd like to eventually take mine hunting, so I'd like to get as much utility as I can.

If you are lifting 6'', it better be SAS.

Drop bracket lifts are a joke. You hack up your truck, spend shit loads of money, so you can run giant tires, and have no more, or a minimal increase in ground clearance, and end up with a truck no more capable than a truck with a 3'' lift.

If you want to run 35's...lift it 3'', tub the fender wells, and chop the body mounts, use the money you saved not buying the DB lift on some lockers and some armor, boom...a real truck.

    /end thread.

haha, I took the BL off about a year ago now. The prev owner installed it...I do see my truck description is the same as it has been for a while...forgot to update it...but my build thread is up to date.

I think 6'' Lifts look awesome on 2nd gens, it makes the truck look mean as hell...but as far as making a truck more offroad worthy...the money is better spent IMO...

Now 6'' DB lift on a first gen...meh...looks strange to me

    3" Lift w/small goodies
I had a 6" drop bracket lift and the only reason I removed it was Gas and Tire cost. It was either do a gear swap or go to a 3" setup.

All in all Doing a 6" lift and using the Mid Travel bits to replace some of the parts on the DB lift would work really well.
EXAMPLE: Extended travel coils, Leaf pack in rear rather than blocks, new longer travel rear shocks, New UCA's.

Agree with this. I have a 5" drop bracket lift but put aftermarket coilovers for some increased ground clearance for a total of slightly over 6" up front. If I could redo it, I'd go with a simple coilover 1-3" lift kit.

My goal is to just add 4" spindles and a hybrid bumper to my already 3" lift and then maybe 35's. I just don't see the need for a 6" lift, not that I'm hatin on it cause they look sexy if done right. I just don't want it for my needs. My 3" suits me just fine, the spindles, bumper, and 35's are solely for the looks because I like the way it looks. In the end you can only decide what you want, don't let anyone else decide it for your, it is YOUR truck afterall.
