Hey Guys I'm new to Tacoma and I need some Advice.
I have a 2010 double cab stock right now and I would like to put a 3" lift but I'm not really sure on what to do or what to get. I'm not gonna do any off roading or anything like that, it's just pretty much an everyday driving but i would like to lift if so i can get some bigger tires. I just need your advice on what kind to get or what kind to stay away from. it's greatly appreciated thanks...

First, what is your budget? There are a ton of options!! You can go w/ 885x coils and Bilstein 5100's, front spacers (not recommended) or coilovers. For the rear lift you can go w/ a block (I have but most people dont like that option), aal, or progressive leaf pack. Also, do you have a rake in the front? Does the front sit lower than the rear if so how much? Are you planning on buying new wheels and tires? A 3" lift will require you to buy UCA's running from $500 and up + labor. That is a start and do some research on the site and you should find numerous threads with a lot of good information.

Shok Industries 2/0 big 4 upgrade and sound deadener.
It's all personal preference and almost everyone here will give you the recommendation for what they have. Your best bet it to take a month or two and read a bunch of different threads on the options (there are hundreds if not thousands to choose from). I looked for months before I finally decided to pull the trigger. I have the full OME kit with UCAs which ran me somewhere around $1600-1800 and I did all the labor in a day. If I did it again though I'd save a little more and go with some nice King coilovers because I think they ride a little more plush than the OME kit.

If I went back in time I would tell myself to enjoy the 18-20MPG and skip the lift and bigger tires though.

    read build thread
if your not going offroad, getting coilovers would be a waste of $.

OME/dakar is the next step down from those, with 5100/AAL below that, and spacers/blocks at the bottom of the list.

285's look best with a 3" lift btw.

LMAO!! Welcome to TW!!! Cheapest 3" in my opinion not necessarily the right way by any means: 3" spacer w/ rear 1.5" aal (2"-2.5" of lift for rear)(est. $200) add UCA's ($500 minimum). Possible rear shocks for lift 5100's ($200)

Minimum for 3" just guessing: Installed on your own: $900
    Installed elsewhere: $1,400

Like everyone has said read up on all the different forums and websites w/ good lifts. Here is a starter place.

I have a 3 " spacer lift up front and a 2" block out back , got it lined up this way, it go's down the road pretty good, it really does not wander any more than it did before I lifted it , if I were to do it again I would go with heavy duty front springs ,and ajustable billys . and a homemade leafspring pack in the back , only because I tow my tractor and use the truck for plowing in the winter , took me 1/2 a day to install the lift, but I also have a heated gagage with a lift and air tools. but all in all, it was fairly easy. you know, for everyday driving like me and about a million other people, a rough country lift spacers and blocks are fine, i had mine for about 2 months but my buddies been running it for 200,000 kms, dont get me wrong though, if i had more money id dive into coil overs and a new leaf pack. however for just a 3 inch lift for everyday driving 249.99 rough country lift is fine. if your either bit mechanical, install isnt real bad either

i've been reading most of the threads (which is like a million of em) and i guess i just need to pull the trigger on something cause everyone has their own opinion and since most of you have been there done that you could maybe point me in the right direction on which kind to get. I think i might go with ome kit. any thoughts?

For what your looking for OME would be a good choice. Also look into Light Racing UCAs. They are not top of the line so they dont cost as much.

Save money. Keep stock. Bigger tires for no reason?
