Anyone regret getting a Tacoma over a Tundra?

I'm totally torn because I occasionally drive my fathers Tundra enjoy the power and comfort but I then get back in my Tacoma and can't imagine anything else!

I owned a full size chevy 2 vehicles prior to my taco so at times i wish I had the 5.7 and the extra room but the tacoma is really the perfect size for me. Parking is never a problem and I'm pretty pleased that I average 17-18 mpg driving in the city .

Dude seriously?! Just because you don't know how to do a burn out doesn't mean this truck can't do it. It has traction control so idiots that can't drive won't kill themselves. But If you want to have fun you need to kill the nannies & then you can enjoy all 381 hp without any problem.

The real problem I see is not the truck, it's huge & it's powerful. The problem is that people buy it knowin that its huge and powerful yet bitch about its mpg. Wtf? Then don't get a big ass truck, get a Camry. If you can't afford a big boy toy then don't buy one & whine about it!

**Ok, sorry for the rant guys, don't mean to shit in anyone's cereal....
I've always liked the tacomas... always wanted to buy one. Then the day came when I was out truck shopping, i test drove one & loved it, then I test drove the tundra...and I felt that it better met my needs.

I like the power and comfort of the Tundras, but the Tacoma is right for me.

    nothing cool
wanted a Tacoma and not a Tundra. But, to answer the question. A Tundra honestly wouldn't fit in my garage. Too wide, maybe too tall My Tacoma fits in my garage with about 2 inches on each side of the mirrors.

Only regret it when I need to tow long distance, but even then it's not that bad.

Totally agree! I bought a 2009 Tundra drove it around for a year before I finally stopped lying to myself. I traded for a 2013 dbl cab. Felt GREAT ever since! I love the tacoma!!

No regret ==just wish it was the double cab instead of just the extra cab.
They could have improved the extra cab with a third door.

Nope, bought the dclb and it does everything I need it to do. I don't really want to get fewer mpg with the v8.

That "only $500 more" will quickly turn into a lot more when you are paying for gas to move a vehicle larger then you need.

No regrets here. Tundra is a nice truck, and the money was about the same for purchase, but as a daily driver I wanted the Taco. Like anything else, it's not going to do everything well, but it's a tradeoff. If I was towing or moving something big every day, I'd want the Tundra. But I don't, and I also don't want to have to fuel and park it all day around town.

I had the same, but with a duelly on the f350 crew longbed. NEVER again.. I'm still so happy when I don't have to go move that beast half a mile away on street sweeper Thursdays. That thing wasn't ever going to fit in a garage.

Where else would I ask the question? An F-150 forum?

I think the point is: People here all chose the Taco, so it's going to be rather heavily weighted against the Tundra, even though it's a fine truck.

I have yet to regret getting a tacoma. I would not drive anything else. If your tacoma feels to small, lift her up and throw some meat under.. That should help :)

I wonder the same thing. I'm happy with my Tacoma but a buddy of mine has a Tundra w/a 2.5 inch lift. I love the look...real mean. The seats are a lot more comfortable for my 6'2" frame too. I want a lifted Tundra but I can't rationalize the added fuel cost & size for looks.

I like the 2nd gen Tundra look. I don't like the 2014 body style. I don't think it makes sense to buy an old body style with a new one about to be released. Maybe the 2015 Tundra will have something to make the sale.

Has anyone seen the Ford Atlas--real sharp looking.
