Alright, before I spend all my money I want to check and see if anyone here has this setup or any advice on this setup. Maxtrac spindles w/ bilsteins set at 1.75 in the front. In the rear, 2.5" blocks w/ Dakar leaf pack which will add 2.5". I dont have the money for eibach springs plus something to level my back out or I would. What do yall think about this setup? will it ride like crap? Thanks

Should ride just fine! I have stock shocks up front and a 4" block in the rear so yours will ride better than mine. Mine rides a little rougher than stock but I also have 6.5" of lift and 33" mts! I don't do much offloading either

OMD (4WD) always says that going above 4" in the rear may cause driveline vibrations and will require carrier bearing shims. With the spindles, pull your Bilsteins out and drop your springs to the stock level for a smoother ride.

whats a good wheel size to run with maxtrac spidles without having to use spacers? i wanna be able to run 16's or 17's. i read 4.5" backspacing was the ideal # some where in the forums concerning spindle lifts. does backspacing play a huge part in this?

Yes if you don't have the right offset and backspacing the wheels won't clear the spindles.......you cannot use stock wheels for this reason! You should be able to find just about any of the more common wheels in the correct offset and backspacing.....mine are 4.5/-12mm

Been searching through here but either it isn't really listed or I just kept searching the wrong pages, but what size 16's are needed to run spindles without spacers if possible? I know the OP posted his setup with 16's with 3.75bs but no spacers. So, is that the only backspacing I can use on 16's to run spindles? I've tried time and time again but I just can't grasp wheel dimensions on back spacing and offset. That and wiring diagrams, I don't think I'll ever understand them.

Yeah. Just got tires 3 months ago and don't wanna buy new tires again to fit 17's so instead of wait till next year maybe just wanted to know if I could get 16's with a certain back spacing to run spindles. Thanks anyway though!

The greater the measurement the further the spacing from the hub to the inside lip of the wheel. So basically if your back spacing is 3.75 and the wheels you want to buy has a back spacing of 4.75, the 4.75 BS wheel will now be 1" closer to the spindle arm. So in essence the smaller the BS the further you are from the spindle arm.

Offset comes into play with brake caliper clearance so this is a whole other thing to take into consideration.

4.5 BS should be fine to clear with a 16" wheel. With a 17" you are likely good with 4.75 BS as the larger diameter wheel gets more clearance due to the taper of the spindle arm.

Hope this helps and hope I didn't screw something up causing more confusion.

    Best of luck

Ok thanks! I understand what you are saying. Less back spacing on 16" wheels is what I want with these spindles. When you get spindles or something that can affect wheel spacing how do you know what wheels to get? Just measure the clearances you'll need yourself before you order them?

so if backspacing is 4.5 max, what would max offset be? i read 4.5 backspacing and 0 offset is ideal, standard 16x8 rims

Does anyone know of a 2 or 3 inch spindle lift for 2013 DCSB? Love the idea of maintaining stock geometry just don't want the 3.5 or 4 inch lift
