lately the steering wheel has been have a wobble when driving it only gets bad around 45mph. which is pretty annoying. i do off road often and im sure thats what caused it. probably a bearing? seein if anyone has had this happen and what it was.

I would check front tires balance first.

While you are there tell them to check if the wheel is bent, sometimes it is not noticeable to the naked eye.

If none of this fix then I would start looking for mechanical problems.

I had this happen with my new wheels, wheels were balanced but got the steering wheel wobble, took it to another shop and they did a better different kind of balancing and now im wobble free :)

I know this is an old thread but what did you end up finding out ? I have the same steering wobble at around 80-100 kmh and had wheels balenced even had two sets of wheels and tires on which both did the same thing after balence and wheel alighnment. allso replaced shocks and struts trying to figure out the problem but still have the same shit happening

I had a new set of BFG KM2's that rode as good as a cadillac on glass. After the first 5K miles I rotated them and had a horrible wobble.....some days it was worse than others. The wobble would ususally get better at 55mph or faster but never go away. Anyways, this went on for months.....2 weeks ago I hit 10K miles & rotated them again. Now it rides like a cadillac again. WTF?

lol wow thats confusing why they would not wobble now lol. I just donjt know what to do really ive had the truck checked over fully at a toyota4wd shop and they only came up with a rotor clutch and shocks which I have changed all of them along with the tires and rims and steering bushings. But noth sets of tires and rims do the same back and forth steering wobble at around the same speed so I am at a loss like you were with yours. I guess I can just hope mine gets better by itself as well lol

my truck rides great with stock wheels and 265/75/16. my brothers truck will numb your hand with aftermarket wheels and 285/65/18. i even took it down myself to get balanced with no luck.

i blame wheels. this has come up before. something about wheels being hub-centric or not

even my stock tacoma wheels did it tho. but they were 31s as well so maybe its the sise thats the problem. I will have to try smaller tires I guess
