Thanks for the reply. Looks like we have a similar truck. Only major repair on mine so far was the wheel seal. Got to find a less expensive way next time.

Lol don't wear out the seal haha:D I also have a torn boot but the warranty company said they warranty the CV axle not just the boot so I have to wait till it starts to make noise or fails:cool:

Why go for a $20 boot when you can go for a $500 axle:confused:

    alarm,automatic locks,camper,
I have a 2004 tacoma ext cab 4 cyl and I use it for my job(delivery) it takes me dayly from Miami to Broward and from there to Key West and back,I put 106,000 miles a year and is my second vehicle, when I have heavy loads I use my Express 2500 van ,but when is light I go with the truck to save on gas.
I have to say this little truck is not that good on gas considering the small engine but it runs like a unstoppable machine, never brakes down ,nothing ever wrong with it,and besides regular maintenance never had to change any important parts.
I bought it with 76,000 miles and inmediatelly I flushed the engine, radiator and sparks,to make sure of what I had.
Since then I go with full syntetic oil, wich I change every 8000 miles and every other week I pour Marvell mistery oil at fill up in the tank to keep injectors and pump clean and lubricated, the sparks last me an average of 120,000 miles and since the last few months Im putting a quart of lucas at oil changes to deal with the ticking in one of the lifters, every once in a while I get an issue with the constant speed sensor, and with the check engine light that tells me that the sensor is malfunctioning, but for 276,000 miles is something unimportant and as I do mostly highway does not bother me much the erratic idling.
Since I bought it I installed powed locks, alarm, aftermarket cruise control, and the camper top on the bed to protect my cargo.
I consider it to be an exellent reliable vehicle.
Any ideas of a kit to change the driver side seat to a more ergonomic one? I bought a seat from my neeighbor's crashed 90's dodge charger(leather racing super comfortable)but the rails are not the same and couldn't do it,any ideas?

^^^ I would try to unbolt the seat from the dodge brackets and then drill out the yota ones and see if you can bolt them together.

    2007 2.4L mini - 134,500 miles, and still gets 24mpg

379K on my DD '98 2.4 Xcab 2X4. Still has original motor, trans, rear end, and even the original clutch. A/C, PW and locks all still work.

Thanks. Just proves that if you take care of these trucks they will run forever. Other than regular oil changes and routine maintenance I have done nothing major. I replaced the exhaust manifold with a mini header and recently had the OEM alternator rebuilt. I bought it from my brother who had a long commute to work. I use it as my dd and work truck for my wifes business and have put 20k on it since I bought it about 9 months ago. It has never let me down...

Impressive. Good U had enough time to wait around while the alternator was rebuilt probably saved some $$. I've read some where that it is usually the brushes that wear out but at your mileage it's probably more then that. I had another 2.7 with about 150 on it when the water pump started leaking.

Because right now I am running around on borrowed time lol that CV is going to go out now and it'll prolly happen while I'm off road... Now its a trail repair or well removal then I have to worry about getting it out of whatever trail I'm on without 4wd... Makes life difficult... OR exciting.... Lol

LOL - so ridiculous. I was being sarcastic. They could put a boot on for $20 and a little labor but no they want to wait til it's a major job. Idiotic.

She isn't even broken in yet! My 2004 2.7 has over 221K and not one issue. I will post an odometer pic a little later when I dig it up - before that I had a 1994 Toyota Pickup (before they renamed it a Tacoma) with just north of 330K and the only maintenance item other than basic fluid changes was a clutch replacement. The Frame Recall took her to the grave and funded the 2004 but I always regret getting rid of it!
