This is more of where i'm coming from. Different worlds I suppose. Dave's shop is likely more "corporate" for lack of a better term. I deal with Contractors on a daily basis, and they will fuck you sideways in a heartbeat if you give them one inch. I generally am not very diplomatic about these types of situations. Have the super send them home for the day or back to the hall or w/e. If they are halfway decent at their respective trade they'll be on another job the next day. Ultimately it's my name, and someone in my companies stamp on things, so I have little regard for people not doing what they're told.

Dave's shop is a different situation though, and I agree with the other advice that he should take a more diplomatic approach prior to heavy handed actions.

Thanks guys. I (and we) really appreciate it.

Just when he starts getting stable again he gets hit harder.

They are doing more tests today and I'll spend time with him. Hopefully it's not meningitis or anything.

I tend to get impulsive when I'm stressed... I just bought a set of Ricochet LCA skids

Do you mean speak English or it's an English sports car that laid down the law?

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully things will turn out better this time around.

Maybe you should teach us some russian, so we can still talk to you when you get to this stage. :D

Generally speaking it's better and makes for a more happier workplace if diplomacy works. Plus if you have to start cracking skulls you can honestly say you've exhausted all other avenues.

I try that at my part time job but if in a particular instance it doesn't work I then go the hardass route. I have other ways to even the score too haha, like making teams travel like crazy.

Lol, call Rosetta Stone. I understand it all, speak it not so much.

He usually comes around, but he's been fighting infections constantly for the last two plus years.

Diabetes hit him HARD and it's been an uphill battle ever since. He's a trooper and he holds his hopes and spirits high. Sucks to see a 51 year old like this.

It just sucks I never got to play catch with him. I never got to learn how to work on a car from him. The normal things a kid gets to do with his dad.. Such is life though. This is all I know :/
