Havent tried it myself, but one would assume that the same command as "Siri, call me Jan" would work for telling her where "home" is - i.e. "Siri, *this address* is home" :notsure: Just my first instinct.

Actually, we got that part figured out.... We ended up deleting the address I had inputted (manually) in the contacts and re-inserted it using the map.
    Go figure... ??

Now, If I could tell her to take me to GPS coordinates. That'd be nice!
Or if she's anything like ME (directionally challenged) - that'll never happen!!
    LOL

    Thanks!!

So my LifeProof Fre case fails the water test now. Put it on to use this past weekend camping and noticed one of the corners didn't seem to be snapping together as securely as it should. It's loose enough now that I can pull it apart with my fingernails. Water tested it today with a paper towel inside and it was soaked after an hour.

I know they should replace it under warranty. But I'm wondering if I should see if I can get my money back and try something else since my intended use is to only pop it in for weekends that I need it. Any suggestions?

Edit: I should add I'm looking for a case that is waterproof/water resistant for the iPhone 5. Something that can be used in the rain and easily survive an accidental dunk in the water.

Good luck with customer service, I'm on month two with no response, even on they're Facebook page,
I'm jumping ship and switching to this latest release, I have other products by them and they are without issue. Lifeproof has a few issues.

Check best buy first, they had lifeproof before I did and that's even with me doing a preorder with lifeproof.

I also use an HDMI adapter with no issues,

How do you get your pictures off of your iPad once you download your photos onto it? That's the part where I'm stuck?

Yeah, their wait time on customer support sucks, but once you get through they are great. I already had my case replaced because the headphone adapter didn't work on my first one. I just had to sit the phone on hold for 45 minutes while I watched TV until I got someone. I think it's a good case if you plan to keep it on 24/7, but that's not for me. The new Ottorbox is on the quick list I put together so far, need to do a little research still.

    Hey Apple Nerd,

Simple issue, but slightly different from windows to cause me some minor confusion. I've been learning mac stuff at a reasonable rate since I got my iMac, and I understand that this may be a leftover hangup from my Windows days, but what's the deal with the red, yellow and green dots in the upper left hand corner of every window? The red X button seems to just close the window, but not the application. Sometimes. For example, hitting the red X in iPhoto closes the window AND the application (it is no longer illuminated in the dock.) The yellow - button "minimizes" the application to the dock, and will reopen to the same state when clicking on the illuminated app in the dock. The green + button, that seems to sort of increase the size of the window of the open application. Sometimes, or not. E.g., I just clicked it now and this window size didn't change.

BTW, using 10.6.8, if that matters. I figure, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I kept Xp on my windows machine too. :D

I read the Apple support page about this too, didn't really answer my question.

    Easy one, eh?

Basically app management on a Mac is different from Windows. Clicking the red X just closes the window, it does not quit the application. You have to actually quit the application to fully close it. A few releases back (I forget how long ago off the top of my head) they added the ability of applications to go into a kind of sleep state. So closing the windows for some apps makes them seem to fully quit, but they are actually in a saved state that isn't using any resources.

The green + tries to make the window as big as it thinks is possible. I always thought it worked terribly. It doesn't necessarily make the window full screen.

    Hope that clarifies a bit.

Is there an app I can download on mynipad that will work with keynote files. I do not want to spend $10 on keynote app for a one time need.

Here's what I've pulled together so far in my search for the best waterproof iPhone 5 case. Unfortunately they aren't all available yet, but I think I'm leaning towards the Griffin Survivor + Catalyst. Personally I'm looking for something to pop the phone into when I go camping, wheeling, etc. and I think that fits my needs best. Probably have to wait until it comes out to see some real world reviews.

    LifeProof Fre ($80)
    - Pros: good slim fit, headphones useable while maintaining protection
    - Cons: screen can “pillow” at top and bottom and have a rainbow effect, not good for regular removal, two piece snap together design can be compromised if dropped
    - Dimensions: 5.4 x 2.6 x 0.50 inches; 1.05 ounces

Griffin Survivor + Catalyst ($80) - “Coming soon” as of Feb 24
    - Pros: good slim fit, headphones useable while maintaining protection, two piece design with latches makes for easy install/removal
    - Cons: not available yet so potential for unknown issues
    - Dimensions: 5.33 x 2.65 x 0.56 inches

    OttorBox Armor Series ($100)
    - Pros: very rugged, clamshell design with latches makes for easy install/removal
    - Cons: very bulky
    - Dimensions: 5.51 x 2.97 x 0.70 inches; 3.91 ounces

Incipio Atlas ($80) - Pre-order on 3/11, ships early April
    - Pros: glass screen, 1-yr device water damage warranty
    - Cons: two piece snap together design seems weak and unreliable, not available yet so potential for unknown issues
    - Dimensions: 5.37 x 2.66 x 0.62 inches; 2.24 ounces

    Seidio Obex ($80)
    - Pros: good slim fit, screen protector fits flush
    - Cons: difficult to use vibrate switch, not good for regular removal, two piece snap together design can be compromised if dropped
    - Dimensions: 5.34 x 2.64 x 0.54 inches; 1.40 ounces
