I have an 03 Double Cab and I am wanting to add a sub to fill in some of the lacking low end. Nothing crazy and I am not looking to win an SPL competition, just want to add a good tight punch.

The limitations: I want to keep the latch system intact at least on one seat so I can put my daughters car seat in easily. Also, I still want to fit 2 adults in the back without having to remove the sub.

Anyone done something like this? Pics would be great. Thanks!!

I just got a "all in one" amp/sub combo. Link below. Haven't had time to install it yet, but fits behind the back driver side seat, I removed the plastic from the seat back. Will update with how it is. I'm not looking for anything special, just wanted to fill the low end void. Maybe this will help. Good luck.

Full OME suspension, ARB Bull Bar, Grey Wire mod, Rear diff breather mod, TG Sliders, Pro, Plasti-dipped all chrome Comp 7069, 285/75/16 Trail Grapplers Cobra 25, Ultragauge, axle relocation brackets,
I bought this sub box http://www.supercrewsound.com/04tacomadbldual.html

I had to use a very shallow mount sub to have the room. I endedup with some Hertz 8" subs that sound pretty good. Not tons of bass but def fills the truck. Rear seats are still fully functional. You almost dont know that there is a box back there. I had to remove the plastic covers on the back of the seats to provide the clearence needed. Hope this helps GL.

Yeah, I was looking at the Kicker Hideaway sub (http://www.kicker.com/hideaway) but I am hesitant to drop $300 without being able to hear it first. Let me know how yours works out.
I would ideally like a single 10" sub. I was thinking maybe a console enclosure that fit between the center console in the front and the rear seats (so it took up all the floor space in the middle there, but left room for people on both sides). Anyone done something like that?

Here is a picture of the caraudiofactory sub box installed.

    The plastic covers Astraa70
mentioned just cover up the yellow foam and metal horizontal bars that can be see in the picture. The covers look like this

The 2nd picture is from the Caraudiofactory webpage that shows their sub that also fits behind the 1st gen double cab seats and supports up to a 10" woofer. Their web page is

I know this is very late but maybe someone will benefit. I'm almost done building a sub box/center console for the back seat. When done it will have cup holders. I had bought the Kicker 8" shallow sub to put in a box behind the back seat. Liked this option I saw in a forum better. Made from 1/2" birch plywood.

That looks very nice. I would miss the storage back there though. I put a single 10" behind the seat and found the back cab wall rattled like crazy with the stock stiffener rails. Some mass loader (RAAMaudio) fixed her up though.

I went through lots of ideas before settling with the easy route. 1.0 cu.ft. sealed box and Alpine type R 12". Love the sound of a full 12" and install was a piece of cake.

Pretty sure a dual 10" sub box is possible behind the rear seat... May have to make a custom box. Have not seen anyone with that setup. My single 10" box is nice but a little more boom would be nice.

Got any pics of the setup? Would love to see what you came up with. Looking to replicate my 10" box but just do an extended version.

ill take some pics of the 2 10's tomorrow.
it's the same concept as these 4 8's but we cut the baby seat anchor bar thing out so the box can extend higher (for airspace) .
