I dont know I wont be in it on my way down :p

Tyler aka Larry will be driving the truck south this time

I have a funny story about last year.........

So driving south at a super late hour while tyler is sleeping, I decided it was hot, (in hind sight it was hot, but I was just tired as fuck) so i took my shirt off and continued driving. We arrived at the border in a truck loaded to the nines in camping gear and the back seat packed full!!!!! We rolled into the border station at roughly 4:30am....... Me shirtless, two boxes of pizza in the backseat and im sure i looked high as a kite. Tyler still half dazed and confused from being awoken by bright lights and me saying wake the fuck up we are at the border I need your passport....

The conversation was as follows..... Good evening sir, stat your business and how long will you be staying, where are you going. Do you mind if I take a look around the truck..... Sure officer no problem we are on our way to Moab, Utah for some 4x4'ing

Who are you meeting with?? I dont know names for sure, but Tacomaworld.com

Sir why are you shirtless?? I was hot.......

Sir what are the two white boxes in the back seat?? Half un eaten pizza

Sir do you have any narcotics on you?? No sir

Sir do you have any narcotics in the vehicle?? no sir

Sir are you sure there no narcotics in the vehicle?? Yes sir

Mind if we pop the tail gate and take a look? no problem sir

Sir, its packed quite full, are you sure you are staying longer than you expect? No we have work the following tuesday

Sir why do you have your shirt on now?? I was cold.....

Sir have a fun trip, stay out of trouble! Thank you sir

hahaha i thought for sure my truck would be ripped apart, inspected and us held at customs for 6 hours trying to repack it

This year Im going to have some strict guidelines for them, they also need to arrive to the border before 5pm as to not to appear suspect and avoid possible late night searches. Ill also have a letter stating their purpose of driving my truck with copies of my passport photos and my flight schedule plus a letter from my insurance and work that states our purpose of our travels

ur tellin me! i think whats more important to go over is driving techniques for the slick rock. more so than highlifts and stuff...
like use lockers only when needed.

That's what I need! I am actually glad you said that jace, I would have been so excited to have my new Locker that I would have engaged it right away and broke stuff or tore up some new tires!

If I am out crawling I lock my rear locker and leave it locked. Might be a little more stress on things here and there, but it seems negligible at low speeds. Plus there are plenty of people out there that DD welded rear ends or run auto lockers. As for the front locker, yeah definitely only engage when needed!

My truck will probably be ready but I will be scrambling to get done with shutting down my classroom for the summer and getting the family packed. Hopefully I don't miss the entire meet...

And whose fault was that? haha. Forgot all about the driveshaft issue. I remember when we were in Moab, we were discussing whether you were even going to be able make it or not.

So stoked for this! Starting to make my checklist for the trip. Probably a couple trips to REI and a few more truck parts will be needed. :D Gonna order a CB radio today. Need to get that done.

thats a really bad idea man. dont ever leave ur locker in all the time. We had a differential casualty last year because the locker was in the whole hells revenge trail. ONLY USE LOCKER WHEN NEEDED.

Yeah slick rock is not slick at all :) first piece of advice

Who blew up their diff? I remember Max twisted an axle on Hell's, but I don't remember a diff casualty. I left my rear locker engaged for all of Hell's with you guys, all of Seven mile, all of elephant hill, and the few other trails that I also did that week with no issues. Just some tire chirping.
