I have seen a few threads on here about custom cargo bars, but most are a few years old. I want to put a ski rack in because I just went up to the snow and didn't like just throwing the board in the bed, both because it moved around a bit and I didn't feel comfortable leaving my stuff unlocked in the back when I made stops.

Wondering what's the best option to get some cargo bars. I already have a ski rack from my previous vehicle so I would just need the bars. I have the Yakima Powderhound rack (http://yakima.com/shop/snow/roof/big-powderhound-wlocks) which requires about a 1" diameter bar. I'm sure a square bar would work as well, just haven't tried it. Preferably, the bars would be something that could be easily removed and put back on, and be able to lock.

So what do you guys use and where did you get it? Pics would be really helpful as well.

I was thinking if getting the toyota ones because from what I understand they fold in so they don't murder your MPG. I have not researched them yet but I have done some light reading about racks on here, my buddy got his off CL.

I have a Inno bed rack system that is just like the Thule square crossbars and I actually use Thule ski racks and the angled snowboard holder attachments. They use the bedside rail system and are very sturdy. I was the same way and I didnt want the boards and skis to slide all over the place plus with them being elevated that leaves you more storage room for the bed.

I had better pictures before but I deleted them all but you can get a general idea of this one. Just google Inno racks and check them out.

I think Inno racks are the way I'm leaning.

Where did you buy yours / how much?

Like I said the Inno racks are very sturdy and I never had any issues with them. I've actually had them for about almost 4 years now and I cant even remember how much they cost me back then and dont know which website I used but I know I just Googled it and found the lowest price. Remember the ski/snowboard attachments are sold separately and those can get pretty pricey.
