Now that I've recently bought my second taco.

What are the ladies of TW driving and would you recommend one to another lady. (got any pics of your trucks)

Good idea. We have an assortment here. But They are just like us but cuter in most cases here. The cover all the models from the Xrunner to lifted 4x4.

 

Yay! I love my truck, I just wished it was a 4x4. That's sweet of you to think of your wife and get matching trucks. Lol. But WHAT DOES SHE WANT is the question? Aside from my truck, I want something smaller. So maybe you can drive the truck and get her a luxury car, best of both worlds.

My brother has the little Suburu cars and he wants to get my sister-in-law the SUV one, which is cute because it's his and her's Suburu's but he hasn't gotten it yet.

Good luck and ask the women in your life what she wants.

Also have a little Honda Del Sol for fun too. My truck is for my little landscape business & getting to the mountains for hiking, kayaking, skiing etc. Oh and for Simon too. The boys have the fullsize trucks or jeeps in my group, I am the only tacoma owner. I don't hold it against them.

 

Why would you want two trucks in the family if you don't need them?

Let your wife decide what she wants....

Get her a used corvette and MAYBE she'll let you drive it.

 

Perhaps I should have clerified my thread...if she decides wants to get a new truck, it will either be a ridgeline, frontier, or tacoma. The choice is completely up to her. She would never by something she didn't like or want in the first place.

As for a corvette or somethng like that she would never buy a north american car right now.

Just looking for insight as to what you "ladies" like about the taco. Something I may not be able to give insight into.

Like I said this my second taco...had an 01 4x4 access cab...actually sold the first one so I would have enough of a down payment to by my first house with my wife...just bought a 09 magnetic grey 4x4 TRD sport double cab short box...should be coming off the assembly line in early july....can't wait...my car is a peice of crap right now....97 honda civic si with 320k on it (doesnt owe me anything).

 

Tacomas are made in North America

I've always been a fan of Toyota, so I don't personally like any of the others.
Never driven any of the others either - I'm happy with the tacoma.

Have her go out and drive the other models and see what she likes/dislikes about them.

Sure - it'd be neat to have two tacomas. But it'd also be neat to have something different.

There is no difference in a *man* vs *woman* decision to get one. The only real decision is the color she wants. I personally chose the Speedway Blue.

 

I got my S.O. to accept we buy a truck (she never would've thought this a year ago).

We'll probably get a small convertible if we buy a second vehicule. One truck helps for everything we need to carry.

I don't see why use two trucks, in the city it's VERY hard to park a DC LB tacoma on the street, even with the rearview camera hehe

 

I love my tacoma, this is the 3rd tacoma i have owned, and with all three never had any major issues, the first one a 96 4x4 single cab i put 248,000 miles on it before trading it in on a 2003 ext cab, and now my 2005 dc, IMO i wouldn't own anything but a tacoma

Alright then, from a ladies' perspective. If I were a "girly girl" I would be very impressed with the color coded fluid reservoirs and intuitive layout of the engine bay. You could tell her that she wouldn't have to get an oil change every 5k, instead only every 8k. Premium fuel not required, throw some 87 octane in there and you're good to go. Most ladies' I know like practical and I was impressed by these features myself. This truck is not a pig on gas.

I guess it depends on what she would want to use it for but the Frontier is no comparison to the Tacoma IMO. When I was humoring myself and shopping around last summer I spoke with a nissan representative about the Frontier. I told him I was looking at a Taco and opened the door for him to "sell me" on his truck. He freely admitted that bang for buck it couldn't compete. I've had two Nissan's in my life and in their elderly age both of them had significant issues with rusted out bolts. Toyota reliability was definitely a factor for me.

Super safety features. Potential for motherly instincts would suggest that most women would like these! In Canada I'm positive that she would also get Toyota's road-side assistance service. It's pretty extensive. No Onstar but big deal!

Mention that these trucks maintain great resale value!

Cab comfort. I had concerns about transitioning from a small car to a truck and I am fairly petite at 5'4. I've driven a number of trucks that make me feel like a fish out of water but I can reach everything in this cab with ease. It literally feels like a car to me. It is comfortable, easy to drive, has limited blind spots and it is not at all difficult for me to climb into and out of.

I chose the access cab. I wanted the option of stuffing friends and family in the back but also wanted to limit the length of the cab for better turning radius. With the rear seats up, the access cab also has lots of room for shopping bags and great garment hooks up top for hanging clothes.

She would have to get the power package at least but I would always go for the 4x4 especially in Canada. I chose the offroad package because I needing the max towing capacity in order to tow a horse trailer.

Be sure she picks the color and decides whether she's getting a manual or automatic transmission at the very least. My dad made this mistake when he tried to buy my mom a car for her birthday. He had great fun negotiating for a nice deal and ended up having the whimper back to exchange the car he had picked. Not good.

It's a tacoma....looks the same as all the rest. Gawd, I gotta get some new picts - these are old!

 

I have a Impulse Red Pearl double cab 4x4....I wanted red cause it is the best color, double cab for my dog, 4x4 to get out to the sand dunes, truck to haul my dune toys.

My SO has a Chevy Silverado 2500hd Duramax crew cab 4x4 to tow our toyhauler to the dunes and he loves it as much as I do my tacoma. He also has a Chevy Z71 extended cab 4x4 which is basically the work truck.

So we have 3 trucks...so go ahead with 2 Tacomas!
I'd say let her pick the color and cab type, get another 4x4 Sport so she will have just as many accessories as you and the same ability to go anywhere.
