I had a feeling the shock was topping out and now that you say that, stock size shocks with only a little more travel but lifting it 3in does make sense. I was actually looking at limit straps last night! Would they work?

i have no experience with this but it seems like common sense...right?

the spring is so much stronger than stock it slams the shock open. limit straps ends that whole situation.

Try the added fat friends to see if that is really what it is. It seems a few people would like to put this to rest.

Before you get into the limit straps, remeasure your center of hub to fender distance again with the vehicle sitting flat and supporting its weight. Then jack up one of the front tires from a point that will allow the suspension to droop all the way and measure your center of hub to fender distance again. Also try pushing down on the tire to see if you can extend the shock more than the coil does. Then unbolt the shock from the LCA to let the LCA drop the rest of the way and measure again. If you last two numbers vary then it is very possible that you are in fact maxing out the travel of the shocks and need some limit straps.

I am running 886's on 5100's with LR UCA's and no sway bar, and I have never noticing this clunking noise... (even when I wasn't running a plate bumper up front) Could just be that I haven't noticed rather than it doesn't exist. I installed it all myself by hand (more or less barely knew what I was doing at the time, and spring compressors don't like 886's very much... that was sketchy...)

And Oz, you rotate the part you were asking about to adjust the caster. So depending on how the caster needs to be adjust they can be setup crooked.

The extended length on 5100s is over an inch more than nitrochargers, more people have this issue with the OME shocks. So im suprised that the OP may be over extending his 5100s

Just got off the phone with Toytec as I was about to order this setup, sounded like to me the specs for the OME springs are rated for DC trucks, OP has an access cab. Either buy a heavy A$$ bumper or get the shorter spring. You should be running the 883's not the 885s, even if you had plate bumper you would want the 884.

883, 884, and 885 have the same spring rate. I have 885s on my access cab.

Edit: OP has a prerunner and no armor so his truck is lighter than mine up front

Hmmh I wonder if he's top hate isnt seated right with the coil and thats where he's getting his extra lift height from?? That could cause the coil to possibly shift when hitting a hard impact..?

Right, same spring rate but 885's are taller, without the weight of a DC or armor compressing it, so its topping out the 5100, hence the higher hub to wheel well measurement. Get weight or proper spring.

the coils are seated correctly. my cousin and i made sure everything was together right when we assembled it all. and he works on cars for a living so he's knows what he's doing for sure haha. i'll try the fat friends in the truck and see what that does. what i find weird is that even though i haven an access cab ive seen people on here need the top plate + 885's to get 3inches, i got 3 with just the coils! or close to it.

Your truck is a little lighter up front compared to 4x4s. Also it seems like the lift heights vary a little from truck to truck

    His profile says V6
And yeah I imagine the 2wd are a bit lighter since there is no tcase, front driveshaft, front diff, or axles.
