You do that too? Best way to exercise the dog right there, my dogs love running through deep snow and busting drifts! Are ya using a GoPro or what? I'd like to get one of those eventually, mainly for my ATV riding excursions though.

 

Hey Prerunner11 , at the dealership today , FYI , of all the Tacomas on the lot there is a grand total of zero 2WD models

 

There's not even 2wd models here in South Dakota 99% of the time. Weird. They're missing out on all those sales.

 

Must of all been sold out. You'll have to look at another dealer to do your trade in

 

actually , I asked the sales manager , and he said , and I quote " we don't stock those on the lot because nobody wants them "

 

lol out of curiosity I checked my local dealership listings. No 2wd Toyotas, Nissans, OR Hondas that can come with 4wd.

On a side note. In a rink a dink town in the NE corner of SD we have a brand new 2014 GT-R on the lot going for 110,xxx.

And hey, it has AWD

life better?...........not, Beavis. just endured our largest snowstorm here in illinois, though minimal by general standards. and no helmets here, Illinois law does not require them

Oh, well I'm sorry, let me bow down to your wealth of experience in these varrying situations. And how does your 4wd do in the snow? Oh wait...don't have one. Well I can tell you how my pre runner and my 4wd do in the snow...because they are the same truck

RWD is better in the snow than FWD. I live in Canada, so my snow knowledge is quite vast. /s

 

the drivers experience and quality of tires are all the dif in the world. Not to mention these new tacos have amazing LSD and traction control systems.

With that said, I would never say a 2wd taco is better than a 4wd taco in the snow. Maybe your 2wd is better than a durango 4x4 or a subaru awd but not better than a taco 4wd. GL

 

I'll always take 4wd over rwd for the snow if given the choice. With that being said tires are very important as mentioned. With the stock tires on the sport nearly any amount of snow needed 4wd whereas with duratracs there hasn't been many times I've needed it. I can get around in a lot without. Although I usually end up using it just so its getting used.

 

1.) traction control being amazing is debatable, some wish it weren't there

2.) I'd personally take a modded Subaru over a modded 2wd Pickup

 

Pushing through the snow is never a good idea. Front wheels pulling whether it is FWD or 4X4 is always better.

A good driver vs a bad driver in whatever is a valid argument.
