Yeah, I figured with all the crazy things I do for fun it was time to get a GoPro. Ill look into the program. Kinda one of the reasons for a newer computer. My MacBook and my vaio running vista is not fast enough to do anything.

Does anybody know, once I get the locker in my truck, will I be able to save the old one? As a trail spare? Or are they going to modify the show so that it's not usable anymore? Or can I sell the gears or something?

If you're just installing the locker, there will be no extra parts to keep as trail spares after they do that.

If you're installing new gears with the locker, then yes, you could keep the old gears assuming they're the same ratio but that's not really a trailside repair as it would require special tools to replace.

If you're installing an entire new third member with gears and locker already installed, then yes, you could keep the old third as a trail spare if the gearing is the same ratio. That repair could be done trail side if you have the fluids to go with it. However, that sucker is a pretty hefty part to be lugging around as a trail spare. That and the core charge is quite a bit to hold on to it.

Good point. I am still learning about all this and when I was shopping around they listed it as a locking differential and the picture looked like gears and everything, so I assumed it was the whole thing. But I guess the installer talked about plumbing the shell for the air lines so I guess it might not work even if I did replace everything inside.

Well like ben said the only way that you could use the old for a spare is if you bought a new 3rd with same gears and the locker in it.

That's cool, I just wanted to know what options I have after this operation takes place. Starting to think about setting some money aside for cheap, easy to find replacement parts.
